I bought these pants for hiking. The color is great. I don't really care for cargo pockets, so these pants made sense. The little knife pocket is pretty handy. But the most important things for me are comfort and durability. I'm pretty tough on clothes when I'm outdoors, and these have held up great. I frequently toss a ruck on and do a few miles on local trails. I have taken a knee in these plenty and even slipped a few times. They have been great. They performed well on the trail and clean up easily. Great buy!

I'm thin and have a hard time finding pants to fit. These 30x32's fit perfectly every time. I pretty much only buy the flex roc pants for my work and at home pants. Best pockets too! They don't dump stuff and the zipper pocket is perfect for a phone or front pocket wallet. They last me a good 2-3 years before I wear holes in the back pocket area. I'm hard on pants.

It's very difficult to find anything that fits properly these day unless you like to wear skinny jeans or clothing cut for females. Good all around pants. Go to for me now. Sizing is a bit off compared to my other jeans, pants, and shorts. You might need to order a large size, maybe even two. Example: if all your other pants are 36 you should probably order a 40.

I tried a few pairs of Columbia’s ROC pants in black and khaki in 34, 35, and 36 sizes. These are good pants and a solid choice if you can overlook some drawbacks: (1) The velcro closures on the side and back pockets are very small. It’s a challenge to line them up to close securely. Velcro closures on a pant at this price point are an odd design choice to begin with, but then to make them so tiny seems like a “bean counter” choice as well. Buttons or zippers on the pockets would have looked better and been more functional. (2) The fabric holds dirt, lint, and pet hair. Other reviewers have mentioned this as well. If you own pets that shed, do not under any circumstances order black. Otherwise, these are just fine. Swap out the velcro for a nicer alternative and tighten the weave a bit, and they would be darn near perfect.
