These are great snow pants, and you can tell the the designers did their homework! The pants are generously cut to allow for base layers underneath. There are velcro tabs at the waist to tighten the waistband a bit. My 4 year old wears between a 4T and 5T in pants and the xxs size fit him generously, but not too big. The bottom of the legs are reinforced, so the pants don't shred there if they are a bit on the long side and the pants come with the Columbia Outgrown feature, which allow you to add length to the pant legs as kids grow. Unless my little one has a huge growth spurt, I can easily see him wearing these pants again next season. He was rolling around in the snow, making snow angels and sledding and stayed completely dry and warm. The only thing I miss is a velcro tab to get a tighter fit at the ankle but over big snow or ski boots they fit fine. ... show more

These snow pants in XS fit my 38 lbs., 40 inches tall 5 year old grandson just fine over not too heavy fleece pants. Fit exactly as expected. While there is a one button/zipper fly front, the pants pulled up effortlessly. The Velcro at each side of the waist leaves extra room if needed, although it am not sure if the waist is adjustable. The ankles appear very adequate to keep a child dry during snow play. At first I thought we'd be sending these Columbia snow pants back because they are thin. However, when compared to a pair of $99 Northface, the material & weight were almost exactly the same. We are very satisfied to keep them. The colors are vibrant and there's a let down grow hem, should they fit his body next year. While it hasn't snowed yet, I would highly recommend these snow pants. Nothing worse than soggy wet and cold clothes and at temps in the 0-20 degrees during the day, these are great. You cannot go wrong with buying one pair of quality pants versus multiple other cheap ones that are wet by the end of the day. Sizing: The Advertisement Information cannot be right. How can gees be Size 2-7??? I ordered many items from the seller for our upcoming ski trip, including ski pants for my two boys (8yr & 11yr). The items just arrived today. Bought 2 pairs of "Columbia Glacier Slope II Pants Size 8-20" Medium for my 59inch height 11yr old and it fits. Bought "Columbia Ice Slope II Pants Size 2-7" XL (which should mean size 7) for my 49inch height 8yr old boy and it is even TOO BIG FOR ME and I am 64+inches! I live in Singapore but will have to return this and order new ones :( no one in the family can wear it. Will check on shipping cost at the post office tomorrow. Hope it doesn't cost too much. We leave for Canada in a week! Hope the new order arrive before we fly. Quality: Seems to be of good quality. Would probably have worked if the size was right ... show more

I bought 2 pairs of snow pants; one in blue and one in black. The fit on both my boys was perfect. My boys are both slim so is problematic most of the time. The waist is adjustable via velcro on the sides that tape close. My boys say the pants are comfortable and are not too bulky. We have yet to ski in them so unsure of performance.
