  • Every artist needs!!!
I purchased this book for my college’s Special Studies in Color Theory class. It covers all the bases, has wonderful illustrations and activities for you to do yourself to engage each concept. For personal use, this book will blow the artists mind. As a text book, this was excellent particularly since the authors have public videos of themselves on YouTube illustrating many of the activities. Beware! The activities look simple but some took me upwards of 8 hours. You will also want to purchase the recommended acrylic gauche brand paints, so you’re working with the same colors as the book. That particular brand is not on prime and not in my local Blicks or Michael’s and it took about 2 weeks to arrive through Amazon - so keep that in mind! Even if you’re a beginner, this book illustrates and explains so well, and the activities only require modest technical skill, that I am sure you will glean something. ... show more

  • Best Color Book of All
David Hornung. has been teaching color theory long enough to make the process easy (and fun) to understand. The exercises and the sample art in this book are outstanding. He is, himself, a wonderful artist and hi work demonstrates thepower of color very well.

  • incomplete order
Good morning - I received my book "Color" which was supposed to have had "4 easy to follow video demonstrations" -- but they were not included with the book. Please advise when these videos will be delivered. Thanks Susan Selden

  • Do the exercises, that's the point
This book is about developing a sense of color based on structured exercises. Do the exercises and you will develop your sensory understanding of colors. Absolutely.

I used this book for a college course in color theory and design. Came in perfect condition. Great book. Its was cheaper to buy the book than rent it.

  • Deep dive into understanding color
This book is so full of information about how to understand color. It has changed the way I see color, even with 20 years experience of being a color consultant. Excellent.
