My husband is at the age where they tell you to get a colonoscopy but he doesn’t want to, so I suggested we do this at home test first and if it’s positive we have one. I ordered the 2 pack just to be on the safe side. You just tape the paper under the commode seat like a hammock. Then you twist off the blue cap end on the vial and poke your stool in 6 different spots. Place the tip back in the vial and screw it on tightly, shake and then turn it over to the red cap side. Open the foil pack and pull out the test device, open the red cap end and squirt 3 drops of this solution in the hole where it shows drops. Then you wait 10 minutes. I guess we will wait a few days and do the second test. There is a faint line on the bottom and the kit shows if there is a faint second line then it is positive. I guess if the next one does the same we will be going to the doctor whether he wants to or not. This is a very simple test to do though. This kit allows you to test at home with no mail-in or waiting. It contains two tests. Be sure to read instructions which tell you to use NO aspirin or blood thinners for a week prior to testing. My husband was using aspirin but wanted to test right away, as he had specific symptoms. Sure enough, the test was positive. He stopped the aspirin for a week, then took the second test. It was still positive. Because his other symptoms had resolved, he's waiting for his annual visit to gastroenterologist and will inform doctor of these tests at that time. His doctor will likely order a colonoscopy, since it's been 3 years and he has recurring polyps. As such, buyers of this kit should use reasonable judgement before jumping to dire conclusions about meaning of test results. ... show more

Okay so I purchased this test and just did it and sadly it is positive for blood in my stool. I was having some issues which is why I purchased it and now I know. Called the doctor today to schedule a colonoscopy. Praying I don’t have colon cancer but at least I know to get checked now. I needed to do a test, and I went with this one because the price was good and it seemed to be fairly easy to do. Unfortunately, I only bought one and I really wish I had gone for the two pack. After it arrived, I read the instructions and realized that I had to wait a few days to take it because I had recently used an NSAID. On the morning that I was going do the test, I affixed the tissue to the toilet bowl to make sure I was prepared when the time came. Well, I guess the stress of taking the test gave me a bit of constipation, and I never did do a movement that day. It's a good thing we have more than one bathroom, since now I had the sling on there all day, and you have to be careful that it doesn't get wet, which a drop of water did get on the sample tissue. I believe it also says to not do the test if you are constipated, which I became so at the thought of having to do the test. I was able to produce a sample the next day, and I freaked out when I got a positive. But after an hour or so, I remembered the part about not doing the test if you were constipated, which I assume is because it would lead to a misleading positive. Now I'm having another kit sent so I can try again. I strongly recommend getting the two pack, and saving the little bit of cash if you need to do the test twice. I have not actually used this item, as the patient must refrain from aspirin and blood thinners for two weeks prior to testing. Hopefully, this will return negative results. Instructions about no aspirin should be included in description.

So I just purchased this. Just took it. Came out positive and I guess I'll call my doctor. But it could mean anything. I liked it was on the cheaper side. I may wait and order one in a few months and re test and see. It does say on the box to preferably have 2 tests. I only got one. But yeah, worth a try. ... show more
