This dress is comfortable, sewn nicely and fit well except it was short (hit me mid calf). I needed it as a colonial costume. Looked good with black booties, a white cap and apron.

I like the fabric and fit. I am not very tall, but the length was perfect for me. The dress was wrinkled in the package, and time in the dryer didn't help much. However, the fabric has a texture that allows a few wrinkles. I enjoyed wearing it. I folded the sides of the white insert together to close it slightly and hide the cleavage. I found a tie-tack that looked like a pearl button, which took care of fastening it. Many pins would work if needed. ... show more

This is a great dress. It is not intended to be full length. I think it would be a dress you would wear everyday on the colonial farm so it is more like ankle-length. It is well made. I would say it runs 1 to 2 sizes smaller than what you are used to. Normally I wear a large large or a small XL. I ordered the 2XL and it barely fit. I could have used a 3x but they didn't have them. The dress is very pretty and we like the material, it’s not a cheap looking polyester, it’s more like linen (or some blend). But when we got it there was a hole in the seam right in the front. I need it right away otherwise I would return it and get a new one.

Gosh, this was a PERFECT fit! I ordered an XL, going by the measurements given. The color was more on the rusty side vs a maroon wine, but that was ok. The construction is solid. There is a side zipper, well done, but I didn't need it. The waist ties are the perfect length to easily tie in back with a decent bow. The material was wrinkly, but for my purposes on stage, I ended up not bothering to iron it. The white material is comfortable too. I am 5ft 2 1/2 in tall. The length was perfect with my period look short laced boots. Sleeve length was perfect too. I looked GREAT! I am impressed with the solid construction. I was pleasantly surprised that the material was NOT flimsy, like so many other online costumes and dresses. Haven't washed it yet, but hope it won't bleed onto the white part. ... show more

This dress is being worn at an 1830’s Historic Site. It is a great dress for the price but only for women under 5 ft 3 with a corded petticoat. I bought one for myself and one for an intern. We both like the fit. We haven’t washed them yet so we are crossing our fingers that they don’t shrink or bleed. ... show more

This dress is extremely cheap, cheap fabric, cheap sewing, cheap historical value. I ordered the large based on the size chart, and it was way too large, but so short that it only reached slightly above my ankles and I am only 5'3". I returned it days after it arrived.
