Why did you pick this product vs others?: I've had my cabin for a couple years now and this is one of my top Christmas decorations I look forward to bringing out each year. There are several things I love & a few things of annoyance. Cons: - 1 - Lighting the incense cone. It could be due to the construction of my cabin but the chimney doesn't always go in easily. This can make moving a lit incense cone back inside the cabin a bit tricky. There are a couple ways to try and light the incense cone. 1a. You can easily light it while the holder & half of the chimney are out but then you have to be extremely careful slotting the chimney back into the cabin. If you move too fast or bump the cabin on the way in, you risk the cone falling over inside the chimney. 1b. You can try and light it while the cone is already setting upright in the chimney through the vent hole. Without a great single flamed jet lighter or a punk, you run the risk of burning the outside of the cabin or not lighting the cone completely. I wouldn't advise this. - 2- There is glitter everywhere. Although it looks beautiful in the light and in the dark, be prepared to wash glitter off of your hands constantly if you're handling this. When would that be? a)Turning the lights on, because the light switch is on the bottom. b)Relocating it anywhere. c)Taking the chimney & cone out | Putting the chimney and cone back in. - 3 - This is me nitpicking and have minimal to nothing to do with the cabin. 3a. I really wish the lights flickered on the cabin to mimic a fireplace inside. I'm sure that would ware down on the batteries but I really only have this out once a season so I'm okay with sacrificing the batteries for that. That being said, I've been using this just fine and will continue to. 3b. This is about the cone and not the cabin. Depending on the cones you buy and their burn rate, it can produce a lot of smoke. Some people may love that and at times I certainly do. However, I live in an apartment with sensitive smoke detectors all over my unit. So I can only enjoy my smoking cabin with a fan and my kitchen vent hood on. Pros: Outside of all that, I'm still giving this 5 stars. Just look at it. Look at the pictures from other reviews. 1. It's a great size for a kitchen counter or a mantel. During the holidays, my mantel is generally already crowded with several Santa Clauses, stocking holders, & a clock. There could be room for the cabin but I like it to be the centerpiece elsewhere. 2. The aesthetic of a smoking chimney in a cabin is beautiful when you start pairing it with other Christmas decorations. Normally, I have figurines I can place beside or around it. 3. Battery consumption is great for what I use it for. I rarely leave the lights on in the cabin 24/7 but I haven't had the batteries just randomly stop working during the holiday season either. I normally let it run throughout the night and turn it off in the morning. 4. The price! I really didn't expect much from this when I bought it but I've been thoroughly surprised. I would feel comfortable gifting this to someone or buying a second one for myself. I think this would be a great addition to anyone's collection who is wanting to add more of a festive feel to their holidays.

I really love this. I'm planning on putting in my Christmas village this year, and it will be by far the least expensive building in it, short of the ones I have made myself. The construction is as good or better than any of the Lemax buildings. It also matches scale. The chimney really smokes, but the one thing to look out for is the glitter. This has tons of it and it will be everywhere when you take it out of the packaging! I took it outside and first sprayed it with canned air to remove the loose glitter. I then sprayed the whole thing in a matte clear coat that I use for my models. The glitter isn't as shiny with the clear coat (my personal preference anyway), but the glitter now stays put.

I ended up buying two of these. The first one had a manufacturer's flaw with the top of the chimney being completely blocked off so it couldn't allow incense to flow at all. After having that addressed, the second arrived and is perfect. The cabin looks good and is pretty well made. Three AAA batteries are required for it to be turned on to light up and the lights give a nice, cozy, glow in the windows that create a nice effect when the smoke is coming up from the chimney. I should note - if you get one of these, the incense holder, incense, and the lower chimney that slots into the cabin are nestled in the side of the styrofoam. When I first got mine, I thought they were missing and it took a bit for me to turn the styrofoam around to find the right side where they were taped in! Once everything is together, it's great. I had no issues with the incense that's included, but I typically use my own so I can have more choice of scent for the holidays. My mother added a pair of small mice figurines that stand less than an inch tall. If you can find something similar, they make a nice addition standing at the bottom of the front stairs.

I was unsure of how it would look with the little truck, but it’s perfect. I tried the incense cones out but they don’t really have a smell. You can see the smoke coming from the chimney. You will need to get your own scents though if you are looking for a decent smell. The light are really orange, i do wish they were more yellow. All-in-all, i think it’s a cute little cabin and it works as described. I would buy again.

This is a very cute house. One of the 4 windows did not light up for us, but it was painted yellow, so it looks ok, when lit. The smoke come through the chimney just great and it came with some incense cones. It is very cute and looks great with my other Christmas decorations.
