To be fair I didn't expect much from these shoes. I assumed I would wear them awhile and throw them away after they wore out in a year which is standard for me. The shoe rubbed on the back of my heel giving me blisters before I broke them in fully and I thought I would be parting with them much earlier than expected. After working with the upper and wearing them awhile they qickly contoured to my feet very nicely. I did replace the insole, but there has only ever been 1 shoe I didn't replace the insole. I don't remember how early on I replaced them, but it's habit for me to do so as I am on my feet a lot with my business. So the insole may have been fine. The shoe laces are original also. I was sure the sole would wear irregularly and be the biggest reason I tossed them, but after a year of daily wearing they have proven otherwise. The sole has some wear, but not remotely close to what I expected and the upper looks grrat considering the punishment. I have not polished or treated them so they do look like a well worn pair of shoes after wearing them daily for a year, but not as rough as I expected. I haven't been very kind to them. I am so impressed by their durability that I purchased a second pair a year later. With better care than I gave the first pair, these shoes will last years and after a little attention my first pair will be an excellent back up. ... show more

Instant comfort in a wide width and I like the lower profile sole look better than the new remastered model. Goes best with Chinos and Jeans but may go with slim slacks but I wear the white soled model. I’d be happy if they lasted 12 to 18 months. Thumbs up

Great shoe! However, me being a lazy foot in shoe installer, expect the tongue to kind of stay put. When sliding my foot int the shoe the tongue decides to slip in with my foot. Ha, first world problems but I like a shoe where the tongue complies with foot insertion especially when I use an extended , used to be my dads, shoe horn. Ha. Still wear the shoe. Nice looking and comfortable. (as long as the tongue is in its right place) ... show more

These fit well and are comfortable. My husband has flat feet and uses arch inserts. He was able to remove the one in the shoe and put his own in and it fit well. He tried a much more expensive Johnston and Murphy shoe and it was not as comfortable as this one.

I bought these for my husband about 4 years ago. I am now buying him a second pair because these are literally the only shoes he wears to work and his are stained and worn thin. My husband is the pickiest person to buy shoes for and it has caused a lot of stress over the years. He is also a physician and spends a lot of time on his feet, so they have to be the most comfortable shoes to ever exist for him to like them otherwise I will never hear the end of it. The first weekend he had these, he wore them to a conference and to all the social events afterwards, walking several miles between establishments in Miami. He said 13hrs was probably stretching the time his feet were comfortable for the first time wearing them, but fair. I did change out the laces for elastic shoelaces because he said it took “too long to tie them.” Coming from a man that has nothing but complaints about every single shoe ever, that’s an easy fix. He is usually an 11.5 and has these in an 11. He has a narrower foot, so the width has not been an issue. ... show more
