Works great for my 51mm De'Longhi! Has good weight and fit nicely in hand, so easy to use in comparison with plastic one that came with machine. Natural wood color looks nice too.

    • Very good for the price
So far so good, this is quite a step up from the plastic tamper that came with my espresso machine. Also, the coffee grounds don't stick to it, making for less of a mess. It even looks nice too, and it's pretty heavy. The little holder/plate that comes with it is okay, just a rubber-like material, nothing fancy, but it does its job well. Overall very happy with it. I would not want to expose the wood part to water, I'm not sure what would happen, but would not be good. A quick wipe should do for everything, but if that is not enough for some reason, the metal part can be unscrewed from the handle. Yeah, as other said, the packaging sucks, but who cares, the cardboard box went into the trash right away. I'm okay with the vendor making a good product at a good price with crappy packaging, rather than a bad product with good packaging. ... show more

The tamper is great. Nice weight, wonderful handle and it's easy to use. The problem is in the packaging and shipping. The tamper comes in a thin cardboard box that will not hold the weight of the tamper. If you pick up the box, the tamper falls through the bottom. Worse than that, Amazon shipped this in a padded envelope. When it arrived, the cardboard box was crushed and ripped. The tamper was loose in the bag. I planned to give this as a gift to go along with an espresso pot, but because of the condition of the packaging, I gave it after the gift along with an explanation. Amazon shipping gets zero stars. I needed an Espresso Tamp for my "SAECO" Barista Machine. This one is heavy duty and easy to use. It's also easy to distribute the weight to press down the Espresso in the desired fashion.
