Description

Panzerkampfwagen VI Ausf. E, or Tiger, is a German heavy tank from World War II. Its characteristic look is still recognizable all over the world. The vehicle itself has become legendary and is still present not only in historical museums and publications but also in pop culture. The first of the Tigers were delivered to the front near Leningrad and in Tunisia in August/September 1942. The tank was designed and manufactured by Henschel and was very modern and effective. Unfortunately, its production took up an enormous amount of valuable resources and time. Tiger I tanks and a few Tiger II tanks had a significant influence on the course of the war. With their dangerous reputation and ability to inspire incredible fear, the Tigers destroyed more than 10,300 Allied tanks and 11,380 guns compared to the Tiger losses of only 1725 units. The Tiger I, made entirely of COBI building blocks, has many movable elements such as: opening manholes, movable gun barrel, rotating wheels and crawlers. Service flaps can be raised to see the engine mounted inside the vehicle. The set, consisting of as many as 800 pieces, is a very solid construction, which faithfully reflects the original shapes of its historic original. The tank has been covered with high quality prints, which do not wear off even during intense play. This realistic model is perfect as a great toy for young history and armored weapons enthusiasts, but it can also be a unique element of any adult military fan's collection. The set includes a figure of a German tanker and accessories: a P08 Parabellum personal pistol and binoculars. The unique pieces include a special block containing the name of the vehicle. In addition, there is a special card with vehicle statistics, which can be used in the Strategic Battle Game. Its rules are available free of charge on the website

  • Cobi's AFV Masterpiece (So Far)
I've built a lot of Cobi AFV sets, and this one stands head and shoulders above the rest. Like all Cobi sets, the design and brick quality are as good as Lego, the instruction manual style arguably better. And unlike Lego, no annoying stickers. Everything is printed. What sets this model apart is how effectively Cobi has captured the look and feel of the Tiger in Dunkelgrau livery. Considering that any brick-built vehicle will necessarily be an abstraction, Cobi sure nailed the imposing, unique look of this famous tank. Fun to build and beautiful on display, though probably not suited for play, unless your child knows how to be gentle--the connection between gun and mantlet won't stand any manhandling. Like most Cobi tanks, the turret rotates, gun elevates and depresses, wheels and treads roll, and hatches open, and it comes with a nameplate for display. ... show more

  • Amazing addition to German forces
This tank was a really fun build and like most of my sets it looks amazing to use as a display piece or if you’re buying to play with it the tracks move nicely and it’s a really fun great quality toy to own it does have some challenging steps in the instructions but if you take your time it should be a fun build ... show more

  • Love it
The media could not be loaded. This is a very accurate tank set, the most accurate tiger 1 cobi has made. I had the previous World of tanks Version of this tank, but this one is the best I’ve had. It arrived on time, but it did have a few incorrect parts, however Amazon customer services is Great, and they’re sending me a replacement. I wanted to keep the one I had and not have to send it back since I already build it. I guess I’ll just have two tiger ones! The pieces that were incorrect were very small not very critical, however, I just wanted the correct ones. Other than that this set is great! It is highly realistic and very strong due to the way they designed it. I highly recommend as a model or as a toy. it works great for both! It captures the stunning appearance of the tiger 1, probably why the British In Tunisia and the Russians in the battles of Kursk and other very important battles were so afraid of it. I’m not sure what the other reviews say about it but it is great in my opinion. Especially if you like tanks like I do! This model especially has an attraction to me since I’ve always like the tiger 1. If you’re looking for a tank model to sit in your office or roll around on your living room floor, this one is it! P.S. see if you see it’s imposing look in the pictures. ... show more

  • Not a child's toy!
I was very excited for this set, because it was the terrible Tiger that spread fear on the allies in WW2! But alas my hopes were dashed as I struggled to construct this marvel of engineering. First, the pros: The tank looks very nice. It is very accurate. Very detailed. The price is right for this set. Now for the cons: the instructions were very confusing, and hard to read. I had to dismantle the entire turret because I missed a piece that made it sit crooked on the hull. This did not happen once, mind you, but twice. Once in the turret, and then in the hull itself on that freakin engine flap. Also, several pieces for the gun were missing, making the mighty Tiger look strange and British with such a short gun. I contacted Cobi and I should be getting the parts soon enough. For the trouble I went through to build the tank, I do not think it was worth $80. I would have been better off getting the Panther. EDIT: I am still waiting for the gun parts from Cobi. I guess the Tiger's penetrating gun will never come into being. Oh well. EDIT 2: The parts came! A month later but they did come. How nice! ... show more

  • A surprising good set.
I confess that I am a Lego Fan and I just bought this Cobi set because it got very good reviews and I love the Tiger tank. About the set, I would compare it to a Lego Architecture set (a lot of details and small pieces). The vehicle is faithful and beautiful, Cobi really did a great job here. The good: - beautiful vehicle - a lot of details and space for mini figures (yes, the bricks are lego compatible) - can be used to play or as exhibition piece - brick quality is on pair with Lego ones - no stickers. The bad: - manual can be nerving sometimes (you have to really pay attention sometimes) - minifigure is ugly (always it sees as if the commander wants to take a dump) - some really really small pieces. ... show more

  • Great Model - Amazing fun!
This was my first model from bricks i ever built. I must say it was a blast and i'm very happy with the result, the instructions were very clear and the quality of the product is astonishing. I expend about 6 hours building it and i must say, that if you are a Cobi Fan (or similar products) or a WW2 modeler/collector, this is a MUST buy. I wouldn't recommend it for a kid though, unless supervised, there are a lot of small pieces that can be lost easily. ... show more

  • On par with a Lego UCS kit
This is my first experience with Cobi bricks and I am pleasantly surprised. The mold quality while not at good as lego (nothing is though) is damn close. The attention to detail on this kit is absolutely stunning, a very accurate depiction of the Tiger 1. Very well thought out design, from a distance I even have a bit of trouble seeing that this was a "Lego" set. This is also an extremely enjoyable and satisfying build and rock solid to boot. Highly recommended to any historical armor enthusiasts. ... show more
