Very solid cedar trees that fit my boots perfectly. The boots are a 10.5D so the large trees fit great. Do you need boot trees instead of shoe trees? These look great with a beautiful blend of cedar color. The brass is nice, the wood is sanded nicely and smells great. I love the articulation of the pieces and spring action to get a snug fit. easy to get into my boots without too much force. As far as size goes, I usually wear size 13 shoes of all kinds. I bought these for my RW Iron Rangers, size 11.5. Initially I purchased XL shoe trees and had to exchange them for XXL as they were too short to apply spring pressure when installed. The XXL fits snug and apples pressure, helping smooth the leather wrinkles some. I would purchase these again for any other leather boots I purchase in the future. Package arrived today. Everything was well wrapped inside with no damage. The wonderful smell of cedar hits you when you first open the box. They are very smooth and durable considering they are raw untreated wood, so you don't have to worry about any rough surfaces damaging the inside of your favorite boots. They definitely fill out the toe box with the split-toe design and help keep the shape better overall. It will also make polishing and general care much easier once the boots are laced up. Definitely worth the investment for storing your favorite boots, especially leather. The bare cedar wood is great for moisture and odor control, it also helps keep bugs away during storage. If needed they can be lightly sanded to bring back the strong cedar smell. Why I only gave them 4 stars : There is 2 downsides I can see. 1) Sizing is for 12/13 Mens (XL). If these were in anything bigger than a men's size 12 (Doc Martens), I feel they might be a bit small as there is not alot of tension in the rear heel area when you push them in and down. They are perfect for size 12 DM's though. 2) They are only really good for lower profile boots. Anything taller than an 8-eye boot and you might need something to fill the top like newspaper or a sock to keep the upper shape better for long storage. Overall I am very pleased with my purchase and will continue to get them for my favorite boots (DM's). ... show more

The quality of these boot trees is fantastic. Unfortunately, I had to return both sets due to sizing, because I have a different pair of boots and they didn't fit right, but it was the boots, not the trees. I wouldn't hesitate buying these again., for a different pair of boots, though.

The “small” size fits nicely into a men’s 7.5 EE Tecovas Dean zip boot. The split toe fills enough of the vamp to support it, but also does not create too much pressure within the heel counter or instep. The vertical portion of the tree fills enough of the boot’s 8” shaft to give a little bit of support, but still remains out of sight when in storage.
