We had a similar type of storage wardrobe that my wife bought years ago for storing off-season items in the basement. It was built from aluminum tubes and plastic joints, similar to this one, except that the joints on it were just flimsy little plastic tubes themselves, which accepted the aluminum tubes from different angles to create the frame, which was then covered with fabric to create the "wardrobe". My reason for replacing the old one was that it failed under the weight of the items my wife hung in it, which honestly wasn't a ton, and was definitely within the capacity it should have held. But one of the joints at the bottom gave out, causing the entire thing to fall forward and nearly collapse. I ended up having to tie it to the ceiling joists in our basement to keep it upright! I wish I had taken a picture of it for comparison before I tore it apart. This one is much better! This thing uses large plastic pieces at the joints, and the plastic pieces are WAY sturdier. I also like that, while the shelves are just stretched fabric between two rails, they do actually have 2 additional rails under the fabric to make them sturdier! Also, this thing is HUGE compared to our old one. I was able to put everything from the old unit into this, and add more, and it shows no signs of tipping or failing. Considering we got by for several years with the old one tied to the ceiling joists, I'm pretty sure we are going to get as much time out of this thing as we need!

I got this to create a closet in our walk-out attic where we are setting up space for people to sleep. It was fairly easy and straight-forward to assemble with my arthritic hands. There is a lot of well thought-out, usable space. The cover that goes over the whole thing is very sturdy and well made. it is easy to roll up one side when the closet is in use but the 3 panels zipper close well when not in use. I do wish there was some velcro or zippered flap arrangement to allow me to seal the bottom as well to provide a barrier for mice. This went up in no time, and it looks great! I will say that you don't want to overload it, though - maybe stay away from too many jeans, coats and jackets on it. There's plenty of room and essentially a couple shelves as well. I'd say it's a fantastic buy!
