You definitely get what you pay for with this product, which means you're paying for a beautiful - but slightly problematic - piece of furniture. The finished product looks terrific. I love the deep, rich color. The adjustable shelves mean I can arrange things on it in all sorts of fun ways. Our tv sits very comfortably on top of it while we wait for the wall mount to get here. It just looks great! Putting it together wasn't very hard to do; I did it all by myself in less than one hour, and I'm definitely not a very "handy" woman. The directions were clear enough and everything fit together beautifully. However, there were a couple of issues. First, three pieces - the top board, the left side board, and one of the middle vertical boards had absolutely terrible scratches and marring on them. The top board had two scratches that really can't be covered, the side board has a spot the size of the palm of my hand where it looks like something rubbed against it until the finish almost completely came off, and the middle piece has that same problem. Perhaps those two boards somehow got rubbed together at some point on its way to my house (the box was extremely badly damaged on arrival; chunks were torn out, there was a big hole near the center, the corners were all badly smashed; we actually thought we'd have to return it without opening it, but luckily the product itself was basically intact). That was disappointing, but I did my best to hide the damaged areas. The opposite outside board also had a problem; it was coming apart from the trim piece on the corner. I was able to mostly fix it with some wood glue, but it obviously would have been better if it hadn't been broken to begin with. The little pegs that hold the shelves have a tendency to throw themselves to the floor when nobody is anywhere near the thing - maybe we have a furniture ghost? Lol. That's just inconvenient though, not a big problem. I'll probably wrap a bit of trimmed electrical tape or something around each peg to help them stay in their holes better. On the plus side, we've got six fabric storage cubes which fit absolutely perfectly on the two outside columns. We're using the middle space to store our records, and they also fit like it was made for holding them. The very center space is currently just holding a basket with some random stuff in it, but I'm sure I'll find something cute to put in there in no time. It really does look beautiful, it's just the right size to look substantial without appearing too large or taking up a bunch of floor space/visual space. It's relatively sturdy, just don't lean up against the side of it hard. I can sit my 35 pound toddler on top of it (while I hang on to him of course) and it doesn't wiggle or bow at all. Actually, we haven't had any issues with bowing at all so far, although our tv is quite light. So, if you don't want to spend a fortune, but you do want a really good looking piece of furniture which is versatile enough for practically any use you can think of, this is definitely the one to get! Just look past the possible damage or find a clever way to cover it up and this thing will look like it cost at least twice as much as it actually did. Definitely worth the money! This is the worst thing I’ve ordered on amazon. It had been opened and taped back. Some of the pieces were scratched and others had black marker on them. Someone had tried to cover up scratches. It had mold on some of the pieces. Even after all that, I tried to assemble it. That was a waste of time. The holes had been drilled on the wrong places on one side. I couldn’t put it together even if I wanted to. The dividers for the cubes would not work. There was an inch gap on the left side and it was so tight on the other that I bowed the back piece out. So after all that headache I had to take everything back apart and repackage it. This will be returned tomorrow. I will never buy this again. This is complete junk. Even for particle board this so terrible. I felt like I had been scammed into buying a returned item at full price. ... show more

So I understand that old adage that you get what you pay for. And I know I only paid less than fifty bucks for this piece and it's not a bad piece for the price. I've gotten pretty used to having to build all of my furniture myself to the fact that I am a single woman with cats. So basically I'm on my own. Don't be sad for me I'm okay. The issues I have with this piece of furniture is that it wasn't damaged in shipping. All the pieces were there. Put the corner pieces in the seams had glue clunks in it and scratches where they had to apply the glue to keep the peace together. Not only that I missed a screw on the bottom or it got stripped out when I was putting the back on and it left a big gap. Being the quick thinker than I am I figured out a way to put a new knob and there to make the shelf fit. I had to cover up the bottom because there was a big gaping hole. I didn't want to cry to my cat's about this because they get tired of that everyday. Otherwise if it looks good in my bedroom I just don't understand why it was shipped with scratches and glue all over it. ... show more

My husband is extremely handy. We just moved 1200 miles and are buying new items for our home. He has had to assemble quite a few items and has done so in the past many times. This was by far the flimsiest thing he ever assembled. He drove to Lowe's to buy L-brackets and little screws to reinforce the whole thing. It was falling apart just moving it on a large flat table. I would NEVER have purchased this product if I knew how inferior it was. I am very disappointed. It was one of the cheapest. I guess you get what you pay for. I don't know what the reviews say as I failed to read them. Shame on me. I always read reviews but was tired and rushing when I ordered this. Spend a little more and find something similar made in the USA and not China. ... show more

I cannot tell fully explain how upset I am about this purchase. I was so excited to get this moveable cube storage unit. When it arrived, everything seemed normal and I started setting it up. I could follow the directions quite easily. THE PROBLEM arrived when the side of the unit DID NOT COME WITH HOLES. There were no holes to put 4 of the parts requested in assembly. Furthermore, there were no holes for the moveable shelves to be placed. My husband, THANKFULLY, had the tools to put in the holes. Unfortunately, even with that extra work, the screws in the other parts wouldn't even fit correctly. There were empty spaces that I could not tighten any further on the top part where the pegs and screws were assembled. If you tried to fix any of the imperfections yourself, the boards started busting at the holes. After deciding to return this unfortunate piece, I just became more upset with each piece I had to disassemble. This should've been an easy piece to put together. Instead, it turned out to be a nightmare of a project. Incredibly disappointed with the quality of this piece. All of that said, I have another piece of 9-cube storage at school, made of the same material. It's sturdy and has held up in the past 14 years, very well. I expect it to last my entire teaching career. THIS PIECE, however, was created with too many mistakes in the factory. Extremely poor manufacturing. ... show more
