Fits tight, but slides onto to shafts that measure exactly 0.3125" with my caliper. Climax Part RC-031 Mild Steel, Black Oxide 5/16" bore x 5/8" O.D. is a perfect fit for the shafts I have. The shafts I have fit this coupler with a snug fit, basically a zero clearance fit (before you even tighten the screws). It's not clear to me if I have an 8mm shafts or 5/16" shafts, I've got several of them out of a printer cartridge. My shafts measure 0.3125" which is exactly 5/16", and this coupler fits absolutely perfect. I was extremely impressed. It's not loose at all. I plan on using this to link 2 shafts together, to extend an electric motor shaft. The fit and finish is extremely high quality. P.S. I ordered an aluminum 5/16" coupler from an American vendor from eBay, a different seller, and it won't fit at all, it is slightly too small to slide over the shafts I have. However, this steel Climax Part RC-031 Mild Steel, Black Oxide 5/16" bore x 5/8" O.D. is a perfect fit for the shafts I have. ... show more
