  • Well organized
Size: 21-POCKET Style: Pouch
Well to start off only give it 4 stars because it can't stand up by itself less u organize just right and the the handle could be in a better position but don't right it off because of these issues the overall experience I've had so far is great. The posive side easy to get all the tools out when you need them without taking other tools out. Also the the hammer ring fits my little 12v drill. The shoulder strip is a nice it makes up for the handle. The weight of tools in bag is not bad to carry for long periods. ... show more

  • Reasonable choice for small, vertical too storage
Size: 21-POCKET Style: Pouch
This is a good buy for a small, zippered, vertical storage tool bag. It's not perfect, but is economical compared to other small vertical storage tool bags.

  • Good, not perfect.
Size: 21-POCKET Style: Pouch
EDIT 1/5/17 - After a fair amount of usage since purchase on 11/17/16 I've got a couple of updates; since the work I do doesn't normally require a hammer I used a Dremel tool to remove the hammer loop. I left the four rivets in place and simply cut off the loop at the thinnest part of the metal. I have found a number of times I needed a tape measure and the 1509 model doesn't have a tape measure clip. I found an old keyring and placed it on the belt clip of a 25' tape measure. Now I can attach the tape measure to the 1509 by utilizing the built in key holder. The LeatherCraft hasn't softened up much after a month of constant use - the material and partitions are still a bit too stiff. ORIGINAL REVIEW: I'll be using the LeatherCraft 1509 as an on-the-move computer network cabling resource. The bag itself is quite stiff - "hopefully" as it wears some of the stiffness will work out. Some of the pockets get in the way of others and trying to push the unused pockets flat is an exercise in futility. I'm tempted to razor blade the offending bits and pieces of material out of the way, but don't want to alter it until I''m satisfied that I've got everything squared away. The "cell phone" holder is pretty much relegated to a flip-style phone; at least my Samsung Core Prime won't fit. I took a small prescription bottle and filled it with RJ45 cable ends and put it in the cell phone pocket. The bag strap extended enough for me (5' 9") to wear "bandoleer style" which allows both hands to be free while preventing the bag from sliding off of ones shoulder. The hardest item to fit (see the list below) was the headlamp; the bag is designed around pliers, screwdrivers, etc. and a bulky item like a headlamp is tough to match. I managed to push some of the unused pockets aside and fit the headlamp in; as noted the pockets are very stiff. (EDIT: 1/5/17 I gave up trying to keep the headlamp in the bag - it simply got in the way too often). In one small pocket I placed a Cat5 cable stripper but the pocket runs too deep to easily retrieve the tool. I solved that by adding a lanyard to the tool and now a slight tug on the lanyard removes the tool from the bag. One note of interest - when the zippered top is unzipped and Velcro'ed to the bottom of the case, if I leave a little room (say 1 inch) open on the Velcro'ed strap then the cover acts as a 'leg' and the bag will stay upright on the floor. Once the cover is zipped backk up, however, the bag simply falls over. (EDIT 1/5/17 - After adding the tape measure (see above) to the key chain holder I found that the bag would stay upright when zippered close because the tape measure acts as a support leg.) For my purposes - crawling around in tight spaces trying to run or repair cables or build a quick patch cable without hauling out the large tool kit - I think the LeatherCraft 1509 will fill the bill. I just wish they had made it out of something less stiff, and left out a few of the pockets so as to allow room for bulkier items. I've stocked it with a minimal set of tools and parts (edited 1/5/17 to show what has really been used in a month long cabling job): 1 Memo book (in zippered compartment under cover) 1 Phillips/Straight bladed precision screwdriver ( inside in screwdriver holder) 1 "6-in-1" type bit driver (inside pocket) 48 Medium and 48 Small "zip" ties (bundled into two internal screwdriver holder) 2 Wooden pencils (in inside screwdriver holder with "zip" ties) 1 RJ45 crimper in (inside pocket) 1 Side cutters pliers (inside pocket) 48 RJ45 connectors (24 in inside pocket, 24 in cellphone pocket using plastic prescription bottles) 1 Fluke Pro 200 Network toner and probe (in 2 inside pockets) 1 Cat5 cable stripper 1 Electrician's tape on external tape holder 1 Tape measure on external key ring holder 1 Box of staples (inside pocket) 1 Cat5 staple gun (in the zippered compartment that is on the back of the bag). I've not noticed any wear after 1 month of carrying the staple gun in the zippered compartment. YMMV. HTH Regards, Jim ... show more

  • could be slightly better
Size: 21-POCKET Style: Pouch
I like that the bag has a zippered top. The zipper and all accessories are a brass color and look very nice. The clasp on the strap for mine broke in the first week but I don't really need it. I had to remove whatever the spring clip on the front is and riveted on a tape measure clip and now the bag is perfect. ... show more

  • The absolute best electricians tool pouch your money can buy. period.
Size: 12-POCKET Style: Pouch
The absolute best electrician's tool pouch on the market!!! I love this tool pouch. I was a diy-er for nearly a decade. I read Family Handyman religiously and remembered an article about being efficient. They said the key was a high quality tool belt. You have all your tools at your side. You get your work done quickly and you look professional. I went to Lowe's and Home Depot and had gone through a number of tool pouches. Some were gaping wide, some were too small some lacked tool loops. Some were too shallow where all my tools would fall out. Well recently I got a job as an apprentice electrician (yeah, I'm an electrician ;) ) and my foreman said I had to buy a "real" electricians tool pouch. He, with 40 year, said you have to have a place for each tool, lineman pliers, diagonal cutters, needle nose pliers, various fastening screw drivers, like 12 tools at least. I ran to the "Home Depot" and bought a sweet looking electrician's tool pouch. "Dead On" electrician's tool pouch. What a piece of junk! first of all, when it had all my tools it in, it was so gaping wide some of my tools would fall out. Experienced electricians would laugh at me. It was shallow again causing tools to fall out. It had a rubber bottom to ensure that it stayed standing up when put down on the ground when used as a carry along pouch. Well the problem was that the rubber bottom rubbed against my leg like a rasp and I got a rash. It was horrible. I decided to research the heck out of this electricians pouch. Sweet sweet Nirvana!!! My deep love and devotion to Custom Leathercraft had begun. This is the 'near' perfect electrician's pouch. First of all it is deep. Not a single tool has fallen out. I have hundreds and hundreds of dollars of tools in my tool rig. Klein Lineman 36 dollars, Klein Needle Nose Pliers 35 dollars, Irwin power slot diagonal cutters, 35 dollars, etc. The bag is deep is slim. When you climbing ladders or walking through tight spaces your tools don't get caught, or slightly get caught. When you do take off your tool belt. you can carry around the pouch like a tool bag since it has a nice little handle. It's slim and stays tight against your leg. The fabric is solid I can see it lasting for years and years to come. The people who designed this tool pouch really analyzed and trouble shout the design. This is craftsmanship at its best. They don't just say, let's build a bag, put tool slots in it and a pretty logo and ship it out. These people have done extensive research and have mastered the design. I personally would like to meet the people who designed this bag. I'd tell them great great job. Still not perfect... Why don't you put a couple of hooks on the top so you could attach suspenders directly to the tool pouch rather than the belt? Other than that, I feel like Tony Stark as Iron Man when I wear this tool pouch. POWERFUL. I liked it so much I bought 4 other Custom Leathercraft pouches and I love them all. Also bought the custom leather craft work gloves. ... show more
