First, I ordered a 10 Wide. I normally wear a women's 10 wide. They are OK in length but seem a little narrow. I wear custom orthotics and it was difficult to get them in. Although the shoe does have a removeable insole, which is good. I used a double pillow Dr. Scholl's insert under my custom orthotics and there was still plenty of room so the shoe is pretty deep. I wanted a loafer that could accommodate my orthotics and serve as both a casual and dress shoe. I like the thick sole and good tread. I really love the little elastic part at the top where the top of the shoe comes to the side. I have really high arches and this accommodates my foot. I did not like the narrow toe box, but that might just be that the whole shoe seemed narrower than I would like. And I did not like the brown strip on top of the sole where it meets the shoe. To me, that seemed like it gave the shoe a "boot-like" look. They are a quality shoe however.

Clarks has and will still continue to be my only go to brand. However this particular shoe, is a little on the too tight category for a wide width. It's likely by accident. After many years of shoe buying experience, I have noticed that any shoe if it has a design that has a strip across the top of the foot will always bind your foot. Thus the designer and manufacture should make adjustments to add extra width if they place a strip across the top of a shoe. The stitching keeps the leather of the shoe from expanding as it was originally designed to do.

I usually love Clarks shoes and own many pairs, and I had high hopes for these. They’re so cute! But within five minutes of wearing them around my house with socks, I had cuts on the back of both heels. Unwearable and very painful — returned.
