I have a real hard time finding comfortable footwear. I was pressed for time to find a pair of black dress shoes without spending an arm and a leg. Everything affordable seems to be plastic and everything that I tried on locally was brutally uncomfortable. Then I stumbled upon these shoes. Labeled as leather uppers and they seem to be leather. They weren't slipper comfortable but they were ok and I just needed to get through a 3 or 4 hour event and thought I would make it through with these. They were far more expensive locally so I purchased through Amazon. Pleased to say that I really didn't notice them at all during the 4 hours or so that I wore them. I have no idea how they will hold up over time but they worked out well for the event that I needed them for. It was also an added bit of a blessing that I was able to try these on locally as I ended up buying 1/2 size smaller than I normally wear. At any rate, they are now sitting in their box, waiting for the next event in which I need black dress shoes. But, at least I now have a pair of black shoes that I can wear, pain free, for several hours. Unless they dry rot sitting in the box over time ... I've had it happen with several pairs of "sneakers". I have not worn my dress shoes in almost 2 years, and the soles, heels and leather were finally gone after many replacements. I needed shoes badly. I shopped over at Macy's and found these shoes, but not in my size and they could not even get them online, so over I trudged to Amazon. I found my shoes, and since it was almost Easter, I paid extra to get them quickly. What a great surprise, they arrived very fast, in time for Easter Sunday church, and I have worn them several times since. It feels good to get dressed up again, i love it! They arrived quickly, look great, and are very comfortable. They look like higher-end dress shoes I've owned, only more comfortable. I like the anti-slip grips on the sole. I've had close calls slipping and sliding on plain soled shoes. I ordered a mediums width and while they feel a bit snug, that is typical before the leather stretches out with use. So no worries. My only negative comments are that they were not properly laced on arrival, so I had to redo that. Also, the shoes had sort of a chemical rather than leather smell to them.
