  • At $91, It's Worth It!
Style: USB2 2x2 HDMI 4K 60Hz
The only thing I dislike about this product is its size. Hear me out. I WFH, and my company-issued computer is a laptop. Because of this, for the last two years, I've connected everything laptop related into a dock, and then into dual monitors. The other computer is my personal gaming desktop. To save space and my sanity, I have both hooked up at the same desk to the same dual monitor setup. For months I've been unplugging from the dock and replugging at my desktop. I came across this little setup and for $91 (over the same model at 30ghz at ~ $75) I couldn't pass it up. It's much smaller than you would assume. I thought it would be around the same size as my dock. I currently have it sitting on top of my dock. My main issue is that all of the cords bunch up where it plugs in. There's just too much going on in one spot. Additionally, unlike the cheaper model, the USB plugs are all in the front. There aren't enough USB ports, so I have a hub that dangles out of the front and makes it look messy. I love it, but I wish it was a little bigger so things were spaced out just a bit more. For reference, I currently have plugged in via USB a keyboard, a sound bar, a USB mic, my headphones, and a webcam. I have separate mice for the different computers so that's not a problem as they aren't plugged in on the switch. But I think everything I have plugged in is perfectly reasonable to have a computer. I think in newer models they should consider this as this is a very typical setup these days. tldr; for the price if you're looking for something to do the job this is it. If you don't care about how bunched up your cords with it, this is it. If you don't want to use a USB hub or have things looking a bit sloppy, maybe spend a bit more on a different brand. But for the price, it certainly does everything it should. Also just adding, I have a full RGB mechanical keyboard, and it works perfectly fine with this switch. I know a few other reviews say it doesn't. Granted, I have the hotkey feature turned off because I needed the USB function to work just as USB ports. Just thought I'd add this in here. ... show more

  • Does its job but not particularly well
Style: USB2 2x3 HDMI 4K 30Hz
I'm rather disappointed with this to be honest. It gets the job done for the most part but has several issues. I wouldn't care as much if it didn't cost 300 bucks, for that price I would expect something that works great. I bought the three monitor KVM for my 3 monitor set up so I can switch between my desktop and laptop. The laptop is connected through a docking station and the desktop is connected directly to the KVM. One of the first things I noticed when setting it up was that my touch pad mouse did not work on either of the USB ports on the back of the KVM which are marked for the mouse and keyboard. I had to plug it in to the 2.0 HUB USB port on the front of the KVM. Whenever I first start up the KVM or switch between the two computers I am using I have to unplug and re-plug the mouse because it stops responding or starts lagging. However, I had a similar problem with the mouse when I was using it directly with my desktop, so that is something that could just be a problem with my mouse. Another small annoyance is that when I plug my headphones into the audio jack port on the KVM, there is a slight bussing noise coming through the headphones. It happens for both selection 1 and 2. Though it is covered up easily when audio starts playing through the headphones, it is still annoying. The above two issues are minor and I could easily overlook them if it was just those two issues. But the following issues are much harder to over look. Randomly, one or multiple of my monitors will go black for a second or two before coming back on. This is very annoying and interferes with my work. I have found no way to fix this but just to wait for the monitor to come back on. This is especially annoying when I am trying to play a game. For a product that is meant to display input, especially one costing this much money, I find this unacceptable. When switching between inputs, from my desktop to my laptop, my keyboard or mouse will sometimes stop responding. I will then have to play a game of unplug and re-plug, switching between multiple ports to try and get it to work again. Often I have to turn the KVM off and on again. This whole process usually takes a couple minutes. This is unacceptable for the product whose main function is to switch between inputs from two different devices. Overall, this KVM will do its job but not particularly well. ... show more
