    • Beautiful simple solid table. Top surface slightly disappointing but still pretty
Using for a writing desk. Assembly got a bit tricky with one of the holes not drilled correctly but we were just patient and problem solved for an extra 10 minutes, no big deal. The top is a bit more veneer and not-inspiring oak color but the legs are beautiful and we approach it coming up our stairs. Then the natural light from the window improved the look of the top. It is oak, not maple, so my wishful thinking was the problem. Got an *adjustable* bar chair from BBB that is very comfortable - I think that's the trick to making one of these higher table and chair combos work since sitting and having a drink is different than the arm position you want for writing. ... show more

Just assembled and put the table in our eat-in kitchen. Assembly was straight forward; some of the bolts were in tight quarters but to be expected. Was struck by quality of the legs and components; went together well. Sturdy. Seems like it will be worth the price. Recommend!
