What a lovely story with such an important message for us all. The illustrations are incredible and the lesson for Charlotte from Mr. Wise Owl to “stop focusing on what she doesn’t have and think of what she does have” is something for us all to practice daily.

Charlotte’s zoo visit is rich with interesting facts and characters, and is beautifully illustrated. The story helps a child begin to grapple with issues of loss. Acknowledging the grief, but with an emphasis towards coping. Useful addition to a child’s library.
