This is a beautiful, functional, well-made backpack. When I look at bags like this, I do it from my perspective as a bag maker. The construction of this bag is great—good stitching, well-padded straps, several functional pockets, and bound seams. There are several thoughtful details. It would be a comfortable bag to wear and carry your stuff around in. I like the fabric chosen for the exterior of the bag. It is some sort of waterproof canvas and seems quite durable and water resistant. The zippers are nice, with little bungees and pulls attached to the zipper pull itself. Netting on the sides composes the water bottle holders. They seem sturdy and generously sized. There are a few things about the bag, however, that cause me to question its function or long-term durability. Much depends on how much stuff one tries to cram into it, I think. First, there is an interesting zipper pocket sewn into the very top of the bag, something I’ve never seen before, which is kind of cool. It is composed of the same material as the lining. The lining in the bag is composed of what appears to be standard ripstop nylon. If that pocket is overloaded, it is going to rip. The interior of the main exterior pocket is lined with cool Champion-brand ripstop of the same weight as the lining and it looks great. But again, I question how long the slip pockets will hold up if they are stressed continually, because of use of the ripstop and the fact that the stitching that attaches the slip pockets is simply one row of double-needle stitching with no reinforcement. On a minor note, the “functional” (according to the listing) bungee cord on the exterior pocket is a nice decoration, but I can’t figure out a function for it…but perhaps that is just me. (You may know something you can do with it.) With all this said, I think that if the bag is used gently, it should last for a good long time. In summary, this is certainly an attractive and functional bag. It would be a fine school bag or a day-trip bag, if you don’t overload it. If you buy it for a kid who carries 20 pounds of stuff around (have you seen what kids DO to their bags??), I think that the exterior of the bag will hold up reasonably well, but the interior slip pockets (not the outer pockets—they’re fine!) are not going to last if persistently overloaded.

Right off the bat, this is a very nice looking back pack. I chose this because of the lighter color, as most of my backpacks have always darker colors like black, and blue, and I wanted something lighter like gray or cream, which this "Autumn" closely resembles. Durability: The backpacks feels solid, the material looks like it can take a beating. I dropped it a couple of times and got it "scratched" by my other backpacks and I never noticed any lint or flayed material. Not that I did it very hard, but I simulated what normal hits and bumps in a busy office hallways feels like. Size: The size of the backpack is "standard" 19" height, 12" width, and 6.5" depth, comparatively speaking versus other backpacks I own. My small iPad 1 Air tablet fits nicely, as well as my small Samsung RV520 laptop (yep, Samsung). Comfort: The feel of the material is very comfortable, so the product itself is great. The inside, where you store your stuff like laptops and tablets are padded for protection. The padded straps and backside makes this breathable under the warm Florida sun. Zipper quality: No problem with zippers, I don't need to rub my candles/waxes to make them work smoothly, they just work and feels very sturdy. I gave it several quick tugs and pulls, and they worked flawlessly. Storage capacity: It can hold a lot of stuff. Modern backpack nowadays are always plentiful. This bag comes in with media organizer pockets, and a stretchable mesh water bottle pockets as well as ample space for laptops and tablets inside. Value for money: The price is a little higher than comparable products, but getting this is getting a reliable name and brand that can be trusted. And the quality shows quickly when handling this bag. If this fits your budget, this is a great back! The only thing this backpack is missing is a dedicated luggage strap at the back. However, it does have two-layer clips at the back, which can be used to secure it to the luggage handle.

My son needed a new backpack for school, and he chose this one. He really likes it a lot, and so do I, as a mother. - It's made of a durable material that shouldn't rip or tear if it gets dragged around. It seems to be very good quality. - The straps are padded, and offer an easy and comfortable way to size the backpack to him. - There are a nice number of pockets. While he doesn't need a laptop pocket, he does use the other, different sized pockets for his snacks, water bottle, looseleaf, etc. - My son really likes the style, with the elastic in the front and nice overall design. While he hasn't yet used it at school (saving it for September!), he's very excited to do so!

The Champion Summit Backpack (Autumn Beige) is a great, medium-sized backpack. It has all the basic features you need for most uses, but isn't overly large or complicated. The size is pretty standard for a medium backpack, just what you would expect. The shoulder straps have a nice basic padding. There is a chest strap to connect the two shoulder straps, which is a feature I really appreciate. There is also a convenient water bottle pouch on the side. These features make it great for city day trips or small hiking excursions. There main pocket is a good size for a range of uses. There is an internal pocket for a laptop or tablet, but it isn't exaggerated or overly stiff, which I like. The main external pocket is a good all-purpose size for keeping smaller items you may want to access quickly. Backpack is comfortable to carry. Seems like quality materials. Also, looks nice. Good value and functionality at price point. I have some more "stylish" backpacks, but prefer this one for everyday use as it contains just the most important features at a size that is super convenient.
