  • EXTREMELY TOXIC CHEMICAL ODOR!!! DO NOT BUY!
Color: Yellow Style: 1-pack
This has an extremely horrible toxic smell to it. Within minutes after handling it I got a massive headache. This product should not be sold to anyone or even be in close range of anyone. I would return it but it makes no sense for the price. I love the color and the ball is very firm if it wasn't for that toxic smell I would use it. I read some reviews that said it had a toxic odor but I thought maybe those people had a defected one. It smells so bad I should have listened to those reviews. I will put it in a plastic bag and it's going straight in a trash. Too bad because I would have loved to keep. **People who are buying this for their pets to play with should really think again**. ... show more

  • DANGER! Toxic chemical smell/fumes!
Color: Orange Style: 2-pack
The chemical smell of these balls was so horrible one can imagine at least one brain cell dying from every sniff. The smell transferred to everything that touched the ball! Whether you plan to use it for lacrosse, massage, or a dog ball, an ungloved hand or dog mouth has to touch it at some point - I think the chemical fumes coming off these balls must be highly toxic. They also seem bouncier than a lacrosse ball should be. I would rate these at a negative 5 stars if I could. ... show more

  • Awful STRONG "chemical smell" Ended up throwing them away :(
Wow. We have purchased a different color of these same balls and they are a favorite for playing fetch with our Queensland Heeler puppy dog. But when these two blue in color balls arrived they had such an awful "chemical smell" that there is absolutely no way we will be using them. So, they ended up in the trash. I don't know if the plastics have changed but the chemical smell of these blue balls is unbearable. Literally eye watering if they are near you. ... show more

  • Great for dogs!
Color: Orange Style: 12-pack
Listen folks...give up on the tennis balls for your dog. First of all they are made to smash against concrete and they are abrasive to the teeth. I’ve also heard over the years that the glue mixes with dog saliva and does bad things chemically to the inside of a dogs mouth. Plus let’s face it...tennis balls get water logged, they absorb dirt and funk, plus they are too light to really throw very far. If you need more reasons to hate tennis balls, if you’ve got a serious dog it probably doesn’t take much for him to rip tennis balls up. Enter the lacrosse ball. Heavy, durable...doesn’t absorb water or saliva, bounces very well. Want to see your high drive dog go bananas? Get these. ... show more

  • Real Lacrosse Balls; Health Use for Me
Real lacrosse balls (not some garbage "health" balls that are smaller or softer). I use them for breaking open tight muscles in my pecs, shoulders, back, and hips. So much better than a tennis ball (harder, so they can pinpoint tight spots better as they don't collapse in when applying pressure, and the rubber exterior won't slip around on painted walls like tennis ball felt does). Also, as a side benefit, they are fun to bounce on the floor as they bounce back hard and fast (not recommended, I guess, if you live in an apartment and have downstairs neighbors as these boys will echo thru floors like a champ). We're all a kid at heart... ... show more

  • Bad chemical odor
Color: Yellow Style: 12-pack
These balls are real Lacrosse balls but they stink like chemicals, and I mean bad, these are for my dog (it is literally the only ball and color he will chase). If you don't think dogs see color think again, he spits the white one out. I do digress, I have them outside trying to air them out. Cleaned a couple in soap and water, still stink. ... show more

  • Good for trigger point massage
Color: Blue Style: 1-pack
Lacrosse players: move on, this review is not for you. :) If you have trigger points in your back (those taut bands of muscles that hurt like the dickens), then you're always looking for a way to work them out or ease their pain without running to a massage therapist or begging your spouse to wear out his/her fingers. This ball does the trick nicely. In books on trigger points/myofascial pain, you'll often see tennis balls mentioned, but they're not nearly firm enough. I'd switched to a Kong ball (yes, the dog toy) on recommendation from an online myofascia book, but it has holes on either side which, when you're trying to move the ball around against a wall, cause problems. This is the same density/firmness and works better. If you haven't tried it, here's what you do: find a nice blank wall in your home. Stand with your back to it, a few inches away, and try to place the ball in the tender area. You may need to sort of roll it around to get it to the right spot. When you find the right spot/trigger point, lean hard into it, and move it back and forth over the spot for AT LEAST A MINUTE! Yes, it might hurt like crazy but doing it for just a few seconds will aggravate rather than relieve the problem. If too painful, ease up on the pressure. (If you have trouble keeping the ball in place or it falling to the floor, it is recommended you put it inside sock or nylon stocking and then you can hold it in place over your shoulder - but I find I can just hold it in place with my body then catch the ball as I move away from the wall.) This technique is good for triggers in the upper and lower back and buttocks. I don't find it useful for shoulders or neck - the angle is all wrong. You may need to move your arms to different angles/positions to get the muscles positioned optimal for this kind of work. ... show more

  • Absolutely UNBEARABLE SMELL!!
Color: Assorted Style: 6-pack
Purchased these a couple days ago, got them today, returning them IMMEDIATELY!! I am a HUGE fan of myofascial releases with the lacrosse ball, so I figured I'd buy a few to give to my clients as a nice present (I'm a personal trainer). These looked perfect! Went ahead and ordered them. When I got them and opened them, the smell that came out of that bag was literally the absolute worst thing I've ever smelled. ALL the balls, regardless of color, have the exact same disgusting chemical smell. I aired them out for a bit, but the smell literally invaded the room they were in. I packed them back up and got them ready to be returned (which I will be doing tomorrow). No joke, my head still hurts from that toxic smell (it's 8pm and I opened the package at midday). It's absolutely AWFUL and I'm NEVER purchasing another item from Champion. Worst experience ever. ... show more
