The Champion Power Equipment 201194 9200-Watt Dual Fuel Portable Generator is the perfect combination of versatility and convenience. The convenient electric start includes a battery, plus Cold Start Technology ensures a quick start in cold weather. Easily monitor power output and track maintenance intervals with Intelligauge, which allows you to keep track of voltage, frequency and run-time hours. Designed with a low oil shut-off switch, this unit includes 1.2-quarts of 10W-30 oil. Operate your Dual-Fuel generator right out of the box on gasoline or propane, and easily switch fuels with our patented fuel select dial that allows for safe switching between fuel sources. Using gasoline, the 459cc Champion engine produces 11,500 starting watts and 9200 running watts, and will run for 10 hours at 50% load when the 7.7-gallon fuel tank is full. It produces 10,350 starting watts and 8280 running watts, and will run for 5 hours at 50% load when using a 20-pound propane tank. Also included is a 6.5-foot propane hose with a built-in regulator. With a noise level of 74 dBA from 23 feet, which is a bit louder than a vacuum, this machine can provide home backup in an outage, plus the Volt Guard™ protects your generator from electrical voltage spikes. All the outlets have covers for protection and include 120/240V 30A locking outlet (L14-30R), a 120/240V 38A outlet (L14-50R) as well as two 120V 20A GFCI protected household duplex outlets (5-20R). After the last major power outage this spring due to snow here in Colorado and I was not able to use my oxygen machine and my ventilator for a couple of days we decided to get newer generators. We live rural out by Westcliffe/Cotopaxi CO. so when we decided to upgrade our personal emergency power system I did my research and discovered that we really should have TWO generators so to power the well and one for our 1978 single-wide mobile home that we are remodeling. Since we already have three other smaller CHAMPION gennies that we picked up over the years to run tools and our old camper , we were already VERY HAPPY with the CHAMPION line . But since these would be wired up as stationary units in a metal shed nearby we decided to go with propane so that we would not ever have to worry about OLD BAD GAS FOULING THEM UP . The only problem was the cost ! Since I became more disabled the cost of fixing things has been quite problematic, that was until I contacted Amazon about their CHASE credit card, and we got approved for a much higher limit. We were only able to afford these as we already own our own little property, our 20yr plus vehicles are paid for and we live within our means on the little bit that I now get from disability. But with the CHASE CARD we have one year interest free monthly payments of under $200.00 for the two gennies , which we pay on time every month and will soon be able to get the necessary wiring and transfer switches so that the new system will be safe and done correctly. A local electrician will be doing the work along with mapping out how once all of this is paid off , WITHOUT A HIGH INTEREST LOAN that we could not qualify for anyhow , will be how to incorporate a “add as we go “ modular solar system with room to add batteries too as we build our little homestead while staying out of debt as best we can without endangering the loss of the roof over our head . so far this is a great generator with plenty of power to run most things in the house off the grid. Had to install front wheels and rear support pad brackets, add the provided 1qt 10-30w oil. Also purchased a 3/8" gas line to connect to house propane plumbing line, a generator output power cord for house emergency backup, and a Battery Tender Junior 750ma to maintain full battery charge while in storage. Ran generator 10 mins or so without any problems at high altitude +9500ft. ... show more

I have only run it for about an hour on propane. It was easy to set up and get running. I love the dual fuel option, and the electric start. I haven’t had to use it with a power failure yet, but I have no doubt it will work great.

As my title says, it's huge. Don't expect to be able to get this thing into the back of a pickup without two other dudes. That being said, it's got a nice handle as in on 4 good wheels making it easy to move around wherever you are. Started right up out of the box on gasoline, and the same when i switched over to propane. time will tell as far as durability, but i have 2 of champions smaller 2k watt quiet generators and the parallel kit for them and have never had a problem. As far as noise goes, its not as bad as i was expecting. the equivalent honda is quieter...but is also a few extra grand. ... show more
