I will update this review with more run time gone by. But for now, this generator is awesome. The packaging and shipping was great. It is very straight forward and easy to unpack and get ready for an initial run. Once I unpacked and did the small amount of assembly, and put the oil that was shipped with it, I started it up to run for about 6 hours of the initial break-in. The battery was charged and ready to go. I used propane for the first run and intend on storing more propane just for this generator to use. If I am ever forced to use alternate fuel, I am happy to know I can run gasoline to. This inverter generator is amazingly quiet for being 3 times the size, compared to my old 4000 watt Champion generator that is non-inverter type. During the total 6 hours of break-in runtime I used a small space heater and a few other things to put a load on it while running and a kept it well under 50% capacity. The Champion 11,000 watt inverter generator is a little over 200 pounds but the wheels that you put on it make it quite manageable to move around. I store it in an out building that I use a set of ramps over concrete steps to be able to roll it up into the building and I can do it alone. The size to power and weight ratio is really pretty darn good. I intend to use it for my whole house except for probably not running the hot water heater unless there will be nothing else to power while heating water a while. I have installed a soft start on the 4 ton HVAC compressor unit which substantially decreased the startup voltage and now have a 50A inlet and interlock installed at the outside breaker panel. I am looking forward to a real test soon without having to run extension cords everywhere in the house I need power. I believe this generator will be able to comfortably run the whole house for the most part including 2-refrigerators, 1-large freezer and 2- small freezers. Like I mentioned to start off with, after doing a real whole house test with this generator I will try to update this review with how it went. But on paper, and my experience with being able to run all of my freezers/refridgerators on my small Champion 4000 watt, I am reasonably confident this 11000 inverter Champion will be super good, and as reliable as my old 2014 Champion that I will still have for backup and remote use when needed.

This generator is surprisingly quiet for its power under load and idling. Much quieter than the open frame Westinghouse of similar size. It was hard to hear in the front of the house with the unit on the back porch. It's still a motor running, so quiet is relating it to the noise of generators. Started easy on propane, have not run it on gasoline. Fairly easy to roll around and I prefer the handle design over the Westinghouse open frame. Ran the unit with most circuits in the house switched to it for 5 hours to break it in using the 50amp (37Amp rated) plug. I needed 240 split phase, dual fuel with the 50 amp plug type and this unit for the bill better than others and it's a trusted brand name. No problem with the loads presented. I can't measure distortion, but the voltage and frequency were solid the whole time. All the electronics, fridges, freezers and inverter window unit ran without problem. Of course you need to do the math on loads presented. Did a few start and stop cycles and it cranked on the first try every time. There is a breaker on the 30 amp plug, but not on the 50a plug. Not certain of that choice, but I don't think it's a problem. I'm not running the 30 amp plug and keep the breaker off. If desired, it's very easy to float the neutral compared to other generators. Simply remove a plastic access panel and remove a bolt to disconnect the neutral wire. I run this configuration to only have neutral bonded to ground at the house breaker panel. Check with a licensed electrician, but if you need this feature it's easy to configure. The generator should have a easy to find label on the front noting the neutral is floating if configured as such. A well thought design for house back up power. I think this will be the best unit for price I could get.

I purchased this unit to supplement my solar setup to recharge my batteries when there's no sun and the grid is down, but it's fully capable of powering my entire house should I need it to. This is a really high quality generator, and while it's lacking some features and accessories other manufacturers provide, the build quality and well thought out design makes up for it if these missing features aren't a deal breaker. Pros: - Seems to be very well made and the entire design is excellent with ease of maintenance in mind. - Easy oil changes - Simple air filter design, easy to access and clean - Impressively quiet, you can't even hear it from the other side of my house when outside, let alone inside unless you're at a window next to it. - The weight is easily manageable as long as you don't need to lift it completely off the ground, it's really easy to roll around. - Did I mention how quiet it is? Cons: - Does not include a quick connect on the NG hose for the supply side (you can attach your own however). It does have a quick connect on the generator side. - No cover included - Single standby / start / stop push button can be confusing, would prefer a rocker switch for standby / off with a separate push button for start / stop. - Standby mode is also for 24 hours only, so you can't really use this as a full time standby generator. On the other hand you won't accidentally drain your battery by leaving it in standby mode. - No battery charging input, which again limits its use as an automatic standby generator - No 2-wire start. Genmax really stands out by including this on their newer generators for people that need it (eg for solar users who need a generator that can be started automatically by a solar inverter). I originally purchased an open frame Genmax for this reason, but it was damaged in shipping and it was LOUD. They have some newer enclosed units coming with this feature as well, but I didn't want to wait for them to be released and their current enclosed generators are a lot louder than this Champion. Champion also has a big edge on build quality and design. Other Notes Neutral Bonding - The neutral bond is located behind the air filter side access panel should you need to unbond it. You will find YouTube videos of similar Champion generators that instruct you to remove the front panel, don't make this mistake like I did. Remove the side panel and then remove the yellow and green wire with the white "N" sticker on it (put electrical tape around the connector). Weight - I was concerned about how heavy this unit is. I'm not a particularly large or strong individual, but I have no issues moving this around. I was easily able to move this from my garage through my uneven lawn to the backyard patio. More daunting was unpacking the unit and attaching the legs and wheels. Get a helper if you can, but I was able to do it by myself. It arrived on a mini pallet, which was then on top of a full size normal pallet. I removed the box top by cutting all around the bottom with a box cutter. With the plastic slid down, I was easily able to spin the generator around and then very carefully tip it over to install the legs and wheels. I was then able to carefully tip it back up and off the pallets without incident. Lastly, to address some comments another reviewer left about there not being anyone to fix these things, yes if you live in a remote area there's not going to be a service center for ANY generator brand. As far as lack of a service manual and a mechanic not knowing what to do, Champion provides a comprehensive parts manual which shows a complete breakdown of every single part inside and out. Any amateur small engine mechanic would be capable of using this parts manual to repair the generator. Most companies do not provide anything like this at all. UPDATE: I've had this generator for about five months now, no complaints at all. I would recommend that when ordering you also grab yourself a 5qt jug of Mobil 1 5W-30: amzn.to/4htZmas Protip - Before first filling the generator with the included oil, note that it takes more than 1qt and the included jug has the correct amount. Fill an appropriate translucent container with the included oil (I used one of those food containers they often put soup in for to-go orders), mark the level, then you can use this in the future to measure the amount of oil you need to fill with.

For someone with a history of Hondas, my (skeptical) first day leaves me MORE than pleased with this beast of a power plant. I'm on the east coast - it shipped from California (cross country freight jitters? you bet!). The promised delivery time was a VERY slow 13 days, but it arrived in Charlotte, NC after only 4 days. I called CEVA home delivery people who graciously arranged delivery 5 days earlier than originally scheduled. It came in on a wrapped pallet on a big box truck with a lift gate and took two guys to get it up to my porch (200+ pounds). The outer box didn't even have a scratch and the inner packaging was as solid as I've ever seen. The unit was in 100% perfect condition. All of the promised accessories were present. The instruction manual was easy to read and easy to follow. Setup took me about 90 minutes only because I read and re-read the instructions to be sure I got it right, and because I don't do this but about once every 10 years, and because I'm new to all the digital technology on generators. The remote paired up right away. The container of oil was exactly the amount the instructions called for (no waste or left overs). The battery connected perfectly and was charged up. The generator fired up on the very first attempt using electric push-button start. Later, it fired up using the remote start and engine stop. I'm not accustomed to an electronic choke, but this one's automatic choke functioned perfectly the first time. The noise level is fully half of my NorthStar/Honda 10k current generator, and meets my expectations just fine. After running it with no load for about 30 minutes, I connected a 50 amp cable to my existing house port, turned off the shore power and all of the breakers, then fired up the generator. After turning the breakers on one-by-one, I was able to run air fryer, coffee maker, lights, water heater, and home PC with nearly undetectable groans from the generater running at full speed - NOT in the economy mode. My 10k NorthStar/Honda will groan a little when the clothes dryer starts and I expect this unit may do the same, but I haven't tried it yet. These units apparently take more detailed and more frequent maintenance actions according to the manual, but if it performs like today over time, it will be well worth keeping this little beast in shape. Customer service is first class but takes time to get through on the phone (likley hurricane related). I needed an Amazon 'receipt' (easily done on desktop PC) to fully register my generator. In summary, this is a seriously stout competitor to the more expensive Honda inverter units I've had in the past. I will update this review if anything changes, but for now - WOW! ***** Since my initial week, I've contacted Champion customer service twice (turned out to be my errors) and am very pleased with their ease of contact and willingness to help. Highly recommended product and company.

I bought this during thanksgiving day. Shipping was delayed due to the holiday. The only one within my budget and allowed to be shipped in California( I know) I used it last week during the Santa ana winds power shut off. Did not have power for almost 4 days. Came in a big box and well package. Heavy and probably need a ramp if it needs to be transported. Assembly is easy. does not came with cables. But comes in with oil what to break in the generator. I followed the 5 hour break in as instructed on the manual. Then used the full synthetic for the first oil change(bought a jug -cheaper). The inverter is what I needed for it was advised better for home electronics .As far a capability, it powered my whole house with ease probably never went to 30% load. With A/C around 45-55% load but no problem. Can even do microwave or coffee maker if needed but never ran it simultaneously. By the way all my lights were LED bulbs, 2 refrigerator, freezer,3 TV's, surveillance camera, heater(uses natural gas) and other modern living power sucking gadgets. so when there's low load it will last 10-12 hours on 5.5 gallons of fuel . 8-10 with using washer and dryer(natural gas heat). I've notice if you add fuel stabilizer it will last longer. I just let the thing ran until it rans out of gas and fill it up 10 minutes after shut down and kept it running. At night I use the remote to shut it off (which is a plus) when everyone is already sleeping. then when I wake up use the remote to start it. Its also very quite eco mode(like a lawn mower idling). Even if the load goes up its still quite. My neighbor have the non inverter(same brand) and I can hear theirs over mine. Constant 60Hrtz at 244 volts. digital hour meter. It has 76 hours on it and oil is clear. I did the prescribe check at 50 hours and did not need a oil change. I haven't put it in storage due to heavy winds again next week. I also did the floating neutral mod because I did not want to spend extra for getting a transfer switch panel installed and just used a panel interlock switch. So if your using for home use do the research. My only wish that Champion will make this panels twist lock screw like the one on the 8500watt model to make oil change and checking level easier. Another one is a switch for making the neutral from bonded to floating. I give them props for instruction how to do this but I wish it was just a switch. ( a mod I have to do in the future) Another one is probably a pigtail for charging the battery and other attaching a solar trickle charger when stored. Lastly is the exhaust when you can attached a pipe extension for exhaust mod. The CO shut down sensor is very sensitive. I know its for outside use but if I put this in a protective case from element (when running in rainy days) it will shut off when intake get a whiff of the exhaust.(another mode I have to make)( to protect it from the rain when I ran it.) Also a drain line outlet for fuel when storing for longer days. Warranty is three years with tech support. But will buy extra from Amazon. Last one for me is the mod for dual fuel. they have a expensive version but was not going to ship as fast I wanted to. Overall highly recommended and worth every dollar. Tired of not having power when SCE shuts your power because of wind. I've already lost so much from throwing away food.

I purchased this dual fuel generator for use as a home backup electric supply during commercial power outages. My previous experience with gasoline only generators was not great, I found them to be overly noisy and prone to surging. As we are on a well instead of municipal water supply, we need a dependable 240v source, water being to us by far the most important commodity during an extended outage. The generator came very well packaged, and the delivery from Amazon was well coordinated and problem free. The only assembly required is the installation of the wheel set and small support legs. I did find that adding the pre-measured, supplied motor oil was a tad difficult, the funnel that came with the generator doesn’t actually fit down inside the neck of the oil fill area and, with the weight of the generator it wasn’t possible to tip it over to improve the flow. This resulted in some spillage which accumulated inside the generator “body” and dripped out over the next few days. Not a huge big deal, the weather was barely above freezing when I did this so the viscosity was greater than normal. I was quite pleased at how readily the engine started, so far I have only run it on propane and it starts, idles, and throttles up as load is increased very smoothly. It is significantly quieter than any generator I’ve used before, and it runs our well pump and the half dozen other circuits I’ve enabled without any problem. Despite its considerable weight, the folding handle makes wheeling it around about as easy as possible. The electric start is a great feature, I only wish that there was an easy way to hook up a trickle charger to the battery, which is accessed through a removable panel. I would recommend this generator without hesitation anyone requiring dependable, relatively quiet portable power.
