The chain is so sturdy that he hasn’t broken it or it hasn’t come off while he is in gym class or recess. Also it is of high quality. I bought it for a Christmas gift for him and he thought it was expensive, so he was afraid to tell me he lost it. When I told him the price he was shocked at how cheap it was. Came well packaged in a nice small little package. First impression it seemed nice, and like good quality especially for the price. But immediately upon my husband putting it on his neck, it binds up. No matter how many times we take it off and try to straighten it out, once he puts it on, it just twists up and that’s the way it sits. It’s super annoying, looks horrible, and just isn’t functional. I already returned one of these necklaces because it wasn’t the right size (ordered one that was too thick and that was my fault).... this one is the right size but it’s not even worth sending back since I sent the last one back. But I will never purchase again. I will now be going to a jewelry store to buy him a better one that doesn’t tangle up for no reason. You get what you pay for I guess. ... show more

I'm allergic to most "cheap jewelry" so buying this, I did not have high expectations. A week after recieving it now and I am definitely ordering more to have. I have tested the strength. It's not so strong that its unsafe to wear, it is however stronger than any other necklace I've ever had. No chance of losing a special pendant or anything you can put on it. Purchased the 20" stainless steel. Has the look of silver, but all my silver chains tarnish and/or stain after a while when I ware them all year long. Most likely from sweating on the back of my neck in the summer. Usually not a big issue, but when you consider that some chains are very delicate, the links are small, it becomes a problem to clean the tarnish off when working with small and delicate links.
