pros: i have PF and was able to walk about 6 miles in the past 24 hours in these right out of the box. it started pouring rain as i was wearing them and i still felt secure and locked in thanks to the toe strap cons: maybe the bottom just has a factory coating on it but they seemed to slip a lot on concrete/pavement that was slightly wet but did fine when it was very wet. cons #2: i tried the one strap version and had to return them because they truly strangled my feet. these still strangle a little bit but since the straps are thinner, it doesn’t hurt as much. i guess the more i wear them, the more they’ll mold to my foot. ... show more

These Chacos are great for use for different terrain. Through sea water, in fluffy beach sand, on rocks, through wet caves. They wash up great with mild soap and a soft bristle brush. They are comfortable for the most part. I broke my ankle a few years ago, so I needed to be extra careful on this trip These sandals kept my foot and ankle secure during our hikes, because of the arch support and stability they provide. The reason they get a 4 star is because the fancy adjustable strap keeps tightening up across my big toe! I followed the instructions to adjust the straps meticulously and it still happens. Oh, and I could walk literally everywhere in these, and swim with them on while my hubby had to keep his slides in his hands! ... show more

These are my first pair and they are great. I was doing lots of yard work and starting to have trouble with my feet hurting. After switching to these shoes my feet are so much better. Love that I can hose them off and easily get them clean.

I love chacos! They are a great shoe for walking and light hiking. I love using them in the summer because of their open air sandal design. I got these all black ones because I wanted them to be able to be dressed up or dressed down. These shoes take some breaking in, once you've worn them a good bit, they are extremely comfortable and form nicely to your foot. The double straps are a little difficult to get on and off, but once the shoe gets used to your foot, then it gets easier as you get used to the shoe. ... show more

    • TLDR: love the shoes, hate the toe straps tightening

My only issue with these is the toe straps. The first day I wore them, I couldn’t go more than 2 minutes between adjusting the straps and having the ones around my big toes clamp down to the point of losing circulation. Apparently this is a common issue due to some lubricant used on the straps in the factory. So I tried the hack of throwing them in the washing machine in a load of jeans, which helped and allowed me to go an hour or so between adjustments. I read up on it, and the most common recommendation is to adjust the straps to your liking, then rub sand or dirt into the slots where the straps come out. So far that’s helped the most with the strap tightening issue. As I break them in more I suspect it will get better. I love everything else about the shoe: style, arch support, the cushion. I like having the toe strap, but hate how it tightened down within minutes (and still would if I hadn’t washed and then rubbed dirt in my shoes). If the straps didn’t tighten so badly, I’d give a 5 star review. ... show more
