We all have that one step in our daily routines that seems pretty mundane, but is critical to maintaining a modicum of sanity. That may manifest as a morning cup of coffee, an evening glass of wine, or a midnight doomscrolling session on your social media platform of choice. For me, it’s a long, hot shower. I don’t care if it’s 103 degrees outside. I I don’t care if I haven’t left my bed all day. I don’t care if my loved ones roll their eyes every time I bring it up. I need a daily scorching shower (or two) in order to keep myself together. And as far as methods of stress relief go, it could certainly be worse. Unfortunately, there is a slight problem. Anyone who knows what they’re talking about in the realm of skincare will advise against taking prolonged, piping-hot showers as they will dry your skin out. I’ve taken great care to select a face cleaner and body wash that don’t dry out my skin, but I don’t want the hot water to undo their work. Fortunately, Cetaphil’s Hydrating Moisturizing Lotion keeps my skin hydrated and soft, counteracting any potential dryness. I apply it after I get out of the shower and it has kept my skin so smooth. It’s affordable, effective, and isn’t bogged down by a bunch of unnecessary nonsense like fragrance and filler ingredients. The pump is hygienic, the amount lasts for months, and I can enjoy my showers without my skin undergoing desertification. This lotion is safer than most lotions out there. Does a great job a moisturizing skin but leaves my skin sweaty after. Non scented and scanned on the Yuka app testing at 86/100 which ranks it excellent in safety. Most other lotions have high risk ingredients and have much lower scores.
