The good reviews were true. I needed a new ereader, and since most of my ebooks now are from Kindle, I considered getting a Kindle tablet. The screen quality is important to me, and this is great. Rich color, easy to adapt to dark screen for night reading, fonts and font size. The internet works very well when I use it as a tablet. What a bargain!

The media could not be loaded. It didn’t come with google play store but I found a YouTube video on how to install and it was so easy but the processors are slower then I’d like on the tablet it kept crashing while on the website. After installing it I added the real YouTube app that lets me download videos unlike the Amazon store one. I bought it refurbished so I’m not sure if the speed was an effect due to this but I just needed this tablet for my son on car rides and that’s it. So far it has saved our sanity. Haha. The WiFi connects with ease, even connected to our phone WiFi with ease. The screen seems good. I read one book so far on it and so far no issues. I added a memory card for I can transfer videos and pictures if needed. Everything on setup up was easy. Storage capacity is perfect for our little needs. Not sure how much storage we need until he’s older and wants games on it. So I’ll update when the time comes.

This was definitely worth the money I bought a refurbished version but I'm really glad that I did I hadn't had a new Kindle since about 2010. Battery last forever. No scratches no dings came perfectly as described. It looked exactly how it looked in the picture. Was really easy to set up to my existing Amazon account because I did that before I ever purchased it so when I turned it on I just had to hit a few buttons and everything automatically linked. I love the fact that I can play wheel of Fortune on tablet so definitely happy with that. Great performance as far as speed and storage. I bought the Kindle in order to store my Kindle unlimited purchases and be able to read and take my books with me wherever I go.

UPDATED TO BE LESS USEFUL - This was once a lovely device, particularly for those with chronic migraines, or drive long distances, or just enjoy having someone to read to them. The update is Assistive Reader. But it stops when the screen turns off or you shut the case lid. Drains the battery really fast. You can have Alexa read to you, but you can do that with your phone, without carrying the extra reader device. The hitch in having Alexa read to you is if you need to fine-tune where you want to restart after stopping the reading. Alexa doesn’t show you the text, or let you go back page-by-page. Her verbiage is much easier on the ear, but she is much less user-friendly. Now I have two Amazon Fire Kindle Readers that are useless. Too slow to be used for web searches. Tech Support advised me I could get Audio Books. I could. But I only bought these two amazon devices for the reading. So very disappointed.
