I have owned these for over a year and wear them around my pool and out in the yard to water all of my nursery plants, and just in general. We live on a farm and I'm a landscaper and I absolutely love them. They are perfect, durable enough to walk across the gravel drive and comfortable enough to walk all day! I will admit I did not like him at first because they felt too stiff on my feet (not the sole, but the fabric), but after I started wearing them, the fabric loosened up and they're my favorite ones to put on around the house! I prefer a snug fit so I ordered two sizes. The best was a half size smaller than what I normally wear. Lightweight and easy to put on. The velcro band allows for a good fit with no slippage in the water. None of the seams or edges rubbed on my feet. I have washed these in the laundry after every class. They still look brand new and dry quickly. The yellow insert adds a bit of padding. The holes on the bottom of the shoe allow for good drainage once you are out of the pool. I needed a new pair of water shoes for aqua exercise, and chose these for the non-slip soles and firm Velcro closure. If I was ordering again, I would go a size down, as these water shoes are quite roomy. They stay on during vigorous exercise, thanks to the Velcro strap, and are wide enough to accommodate my broad feet without chafing - unlike some of my previous shoes. These shoes would be perfect for hopping over volcanic rocks or coral in exotic locations, or even walking on pebbly beaches, due to their thick well-ridged soles. I am a true size 11 in women's shoes and that is exactly what I purchased. They fit perfectly. I purchased these probably for a more "unusual" reason than the rest, but I play dance games on a more serious level, for cardio and stamina and needed a really good, minimalist shoe that keeps me light on my feet during gameplay. These fit the bill perfectly so far. I am going to give the Skinners a try as well, just to compare. These shoes somewhat remind me of a cross between my old Adidas Adipures and my Fila Skele-toes, just minus the individual toe enclosures. I would have gone for the Adipure toes shoes again, had they not been discontinued due to Vibram suing them, subsequently forcing Adidas to change the design. I actually prefer the Adipures over all other minimalist type shoes, but these are a close second, and far less expensive (the AdiPures were over $100/pair). The Skinners are moderately priced at about $60/pair with shipping included so the price point for those are also not too bad. I'll see how they compare once they arrive later in the week. I also like that this particular shoe comes in some fun colors such as your purples, blues, pinks, and even greys. I tend to wear bright-colored things and like for my shoes to reflect as such. I'll see how they hold up on the dance pads when I go play again this week. But so far preliminarily, getting to just wear them around, they are very comfortable and breathable. Wearing a sock with them is optional. I prefer a more radical barefoot experience so I will likely go sockless most times that I wear them. With the Adipures and Skeletoes socks are not an option since the toe bed has individual enclosed toes. Yes, you could get socks with individual toes, but based on how fitted the shoes are a sock would make them very uncomfortable. So that's one thing I can appreciate about these is that a sock is in fact an option since the toe bed doesn't enclose each individual toe. I got the Ty2 mesh purple and the Ty1 Velsolidblack. The Velsolidblack had all the features described. The purple ones were very cute and had a nice cushy insole but 1) they do not have the built in holes that are advertised even though there is a place where the holes should be, 2) inside the sole was solid surface that would not let water flow through even if the holes had been provided, 3) the purple ones smelled strongly of chemicals compared to the Velsolidblack ones which smelled mildly of rubber. I purchased a women's size 8 and the Velsolidblack women's size 7.5 fit great. The purple mesh size 8 was much too large. If I had wanted to exchange, I might go as low as size 7. The shoes are nice and comfortable, but due to the differences between individual shoes, I would give the Ty1 Velsolidblack a 5 star for meeting all the features and the Ty2 mesh purple 2 stars for not being as expected. ... show more
