I had a Catalyst case for my old phone so when I got a new one, I had to get another Catalyst. I dropped my old phone at least a dozen times and it survived every time except the last one when I fell on top of it with my whole weight with it face down on concrete and cracked the screen. With this new case, I also sprung for a screen protector.     • Rotating mute switch *Update April 3, 2023*

The mute switch is loose and freely rotates on my iPhone 14 Pro Max. I’ve used this case in the past for my iPhone 12 Pro Max with no issues and the mute switch was firmly set in place. I requested a replacement thinking I received a defective product but to no avail. The replacement case has the same issue but worse. Quality control has fallen to the weigh side on this product. **Update April 3, 2023** Catalyst reached out regarding the issue with the case I purchased and since it was still under warranty, a replacement case was sent. There is still a little bit of wiggle on the mute switch but better than freely spinning like in the previous cases. Compared it to the iPhone 12 Pro Max case, the problem lies with the mute switch internal rotator. It appears the iPhone 14 Pro Max is thinner compared to the previous series's robust finish. I would recommend Catalyst, they make great cases with a minimalistic style. If a loose switch doesn't bother you, this is the case for your iPhone. I had my Catalyst case for my iPhone 14 Pro Max for almost 6 months. I thought I’d ordered the MagSafe version but apparently not, which was a disappointment. Even more disappointing was that the lanyard suddenly broke and my phone plunged into the ocean! I contacted the company for support and requested a MagSafe-compatible replacement or refund. They didn’t do either and I was sent tracking info for an iPhone 14 Pro case which will not fit my phone! Waiting to see if they correct this, and will update my review accordingly. For now, I would stay clear of this case and company! UPDATE: company sent exact replacement after initially mistakenly sending the wrong size, even though I requested a refund or a MagSafe one. I do appreciate the replacement, and them honoring their warranty, so am adding back a couple of stars. ... show more

I ordered a catalyst case for my se 2020 back then. Love the lanyard. Protection was great. A lil smooth and slippery when damp. This new case has gripps on the sides!! You can choose which corner lanyard or tie goes in. Buttons improved,! Only sad part is lack of color choices. I enjoyed the pink trim with clear back to display a skin i chose. This is frosted. I still ordered a skin and will see how it shows through. Only had a week so hopefully this protects as well as other case! I definitely put last phone to drop test , not on purpose and phone survived and case did too. hopefully this case is as impressive as last one I had!! I have it on an iPhone 14 pro max, and in the span of 2.5 months it must’ve fallen from me (serious falls) at least 6 times, not even a scratch. The case itself is undamaged, and the phone isn’t either. I don’t understand how the forward facing speaking thing works but it definitely does work. One thing I don’t love about it is that the edges are starting to turn yellow a bit, not as bad as other cases but it’s starting slowly. Another thing is that you can’t really see the color/back of your phone even with the “clear” case. Which isn’t too big of an issue for me but worth mentioning. Plus I’ve gotten used to the feel of the case and I like it quite a lot. Overall: Definitely worth the money. It will protect your phone, back and front while having a couple cool features. Hi there all, I recently stumbled across this case after looking at a few for the new iPhone 14 pro max. At first I was hesitant because I thought the wheel knob was a gimmic and that the case did only an okay job. But after taking the plunge this case rocks. It’s really pretty on the phone, sleek and slim but well protective of the device. The front lip isn’t massive so try not to drop on the screen, but I know that if I have this case on it will protect waaaay better then a clear rubber case. The buttons are tactile, the body is grippy and nice to hold. And the forward firing speakers are awesome they really help so you don’t have to cup the sound while watching Netflix or something.
