So I felt so sorry for my brother in laws cat Meow Meow since now that my great nephew is around and he's allergic to cats Meow Meow has to stay outside. I decided that with the rain upon us and the cold coming in he needs something to protect him from the weather. I purchased this yesterday and received it this morning and decided to put it together before I left l. Packaging is spot on and no parts was ever going to get out of the package so A+ on that part. I pulled everything out and laid it out to make sure everything was there and it was, another A+. Now on to the assembly of it and here's where the problem comes into play. Trying to go by the instructions did not work and you can barely see the numbers on the PVC pieces. I think that it should be more visible to the eye. So after 30 minutes of trying it that way I did what every self respecting woman would do and that was to throw away the instructions and it only took less than 10 minutes to put it together. I should have purchased a size bigger but Meow Meow can still fit in it even with his bed placed inside. I would suggest putting something of your cats in there so they can have a familiar smell and go in. He's already been using it. It looks really nice and not an eye sore out on the patio where he's enjoying it. Got this so my cats could stay warm in their catio window box during the PNW’s rainy autumn. It’s surprisingly sturdy. My 9lb climber is often on top of it. It also seems water resistant, but water does blow into or drip into the very front of it because a blanket I had in there got soaked towards the front. (And smelled like nothing so I know it was water haha!) The “roof” overhang needs to be longer in the front to prevent this. Sadly, both my cats refused to go inside other than to sniff around and I’m pretty sure it’s because there is only one entrance. Being outside, even in a catio, they want to be able to “escape” from danger. I ended up cutting a hole in the back while leaving the water resistant fabric attached a bit to use as a flap/help keep water out. Now they both use the house like a little tunnel, but neither actually lays down in there. Not sure if it’s actually warm. My warmth-seeker doesn’t even try laying in it. We’ll see if either uses it once it starts snowing. If they even want to go out haha! I’m also a bit worried rain will get in the back and soak into the insulation now that I’ve put a hole in it. I’m keeping that part under the eaves of the house. Overall, it was worth a try for the cost. Instructions were pretty useless, but if you’re good at puzzles, it’s pretty easy to put together. ... show more

I really like the plastic support that you assemble to hold the house up; one of my cats likes to get on top of the house and crush it, so this feature was just what was needed! I bought thread by the time I put the 2nd one together it was a breeze. I purchased another brand last year, without the plastic scaffolding inside ,but I like these better. Though they are reported as waterproof or resistant , I added protection with one of those sprays you use for coats, boots and camping gear. So far, they have repelled ran but we haven't had a snow yet. These are essential if you have any outside kitties(I would gladly take them in ,but my mother will not allow it,though I have two inside-only cats. I also add a heat reflecting plush mat, inside each house, for extra warmth. Since they are on the front porch I can easily monitor them to be sure they don't freeze up when damp. This design is the best especially if you have a dog or cat that jumps on their bed/house. This one won’t collapse. Other styles my little dog would jump on it and it fall and cave in and then she couldn’t get back inside of it so this one is awesome. Put a little blanket or cushion inside and your all set. I feed a stray, she is a sweet old girl but has been trying to come in my house since it's started getting colder outside. I have three indoor cats already so that's not an option as she got in one time and my cats freaked out. Bought this little house for her and she loves it so far. I put her food in it and she went in right away. I have it sitting under the overhang of my room to keep it out of the rain and plan to add straw for some extra warmth as this winter is predicted to be very cold. It's "weather proof" whatever that means but this gets soaked in the rain. As the winter comes, I'm going to have to cover it or reinforce it somehow. But it protects the food for the stray for the most part.

It is sturdy & easy to assemble. I added her favorite blanket. It took about a week for her to warm up to it. Now she climbs in on her own. The size is perfect it’s roomy. The price is worth it. Only thing that would have made it better would be two entrances. She seem to want to go in on both ends.

This is the perfect little house for my outdoor cats. I usually build a tent on my carport for cats in the winter. These houses are so much neater and take up much less space. I purchased two large houses. My cats are both over 10 lbs and this is the perfect size. Tossed a blanket inside and have a blanket over them to cover the doors.
