I bought this for my semi-feral cat, who is now an indoor kitty. Despite her indoor lifestyle, I always worry that she might escape outside and since she is very wary, I would not be able to find her. This tracker completely alleviates my anxiety. It works natively with the Apple Find My app, which means there are absolutely no monthly fees or SIM cards required. It is important to note that this device is strictly compatible with iOS devices. Because the app was already pre-installed on my iPhone, the setup process was incredibly fast and easy. The tracking capability is highly functional with impressive range and accuracy. When my cat is inside the house, the app clearly monitors her presence in her favorite spots. If my cat is nearby but hiding under furniture, I can trigger a built-in 80 to 100-decibel sound to locate them quickly. The system relies on the Apple Find My network The hardware itself is very well-made. The tracking pod is compact and weighs a mere 0.2 ounces, making it completely imperceptible to my cat. It clips onto a soft, reflective nylon collar that adjusts easily from roughly 8 to 13 inches. I swapped out her old collar for this one and love that it features a safety elastic breakaway buckle. It gives me total peace of mind knowing that the collar will snap off safely if she ever catches it on a branch or furniture. We saved a feral cat that had been residing in the woods behind a hospital parking lot. I’ve turned her into an indoor cat, but I always worry that if given the chance, she might try to venture outside. I swapped her breakaway collar for this one and didn’t need to download the - Find Me - app on my son’s phone since he has an APPLE and it was already on his device. I have an ANDROID, and this collar isn’t compatible with Android phones. It works wonderfully but only indicates that she is inside the house. My kids took her for a car ride in her carrier because she doesn’t like to leave the family room where her bed, litter box, food, water, and toys are located. They drove around the township, and I could easily track their location. I was able to monitor their whereabouts throughout the entire drive. The app is free to use, and there are no subscription fees involved. The collar is a breakaway type, so there’s no need to worry about it harming your cat. I would assume that if the cat were out of range of a signal, the collar might not connect, but in an urban or city setting, I doubt this would happen. ... show more
