The shelves themselves are fabulous -- foldable, stackable, nice looking, etc. Amazon fulfillment is terrible. We've had to return six boxes (shelves) because we ordered one color/finish and Amazon has persisted in three separate instances in sending us the wrong color/finish. The color/finish is noted on the outside of the box in very large letters, so it's impossible that Amazon fulfillment staff doesn't know they are sending improper color/finish. And it gets tiresome after a while obtaining a return and driving items back to the The UPS Store. Amazon's service needs to step up to the quality of the product itself. ... show more

The craftsmanship and quality is beautiful. They were meticulously packaged, yet so easy to unbox. It was as if someone had taken great care to put it together and like a gift, it opened on its own, unfolding as you removed the packaging. This is by far the best Amazon product I have ever seen. One reviewer commented about a chemical smell. I assure you not one of the 4 I ordered had any such smell. Good thing I didn’t read that earlier or I would’ve been discouraged from ordering. I’m glad I ordered these. They are a godsend, actually. I have quite the accumulation of books. They weigh only about 20 lbs each. They fit in my small living space, and actually add to the decor, not detract from it. The wood finish on the honey oak is great quality. With the price of wood here in the States shooting up since the pandemic, you can’t beat this price. I got a discount somehow, so that’s why I took the leap and ordered 4. The reason I didn’t give all stars is because one is more wobbly than the rest. That might be why one reviewer commented about that. Each unit is a bit different. One has a very tight fit, one is just loose - and the loose one has something dark, almost sticky looking on the bottom shelf. I don’t know if it’s part of the wood or a flaw. I didn’t see any quality control stamp of approval on a piece of paper. One unit had the hardware attached by a clever thread built into the box. Another unit didn’t - it was just in the box. The wobbly one could’ve been a return - I didn’t see hardware to go with it. The hardware isn’t actually needed at all unless you plan to attach it to a wall. Apparently the units are stackable. They do look like they would fit well. I’m not sending back the flawed one with the dark stain on the bottom. Maybe it’s a quirk of nature. Having Thai in the family, this is a welcome addition. One day my family will see “Made in Thailand” on the caution sticker saying don’t put a heavy TV set on this (maybe that’s the quality control or different). I just hope the laborers or whomever is running the shop are treated well. That’s my only concern. ... show more

I purchased this product because it was a foldable. We were limited on car space when we took our son to school. It has a nice finish and was narrow enough to place on this low dresser and still have room on the top. At the end of the year we were able to easily store it in one of the units. It is only necessary to unfold this bookcase and it is assembled and ready to use. I gave it four stars because since it is designed to hold books, it will not hold anything heavy. But it looks good and serves as a good bookcase.

    • Easy setup and Looks beautiful
I bought for our bedroom to clear our nightstands. It was super easy to set up. Just took it out of the box and unfolded. Looks beautiful and a lot more expensive than it was. I got the espresso finish and it is flawless.
