I'm using this awning to shade a west window that gets a lot of sun in the summer. The instructions are only 2 pages long, and are separate from the piece part package and the awning itself. You'll have to look inside the box for them. They supply drywall anchors, but don't say what size of bit you'll need. I held an anchor to my bit set, and determined the best size was 5/16". I went through stucco, so I found a masonry bit set at my local Home Despot. You'll need to look at both the parts list, and the assembly drawings to figure out how to assemble the front and header rods. Hint: the capped off rods go on the header rod, and the external threads go on the front rods. Finally, I thought I'd messed up putting the mounting brackets up, but the clamps have to go underneath the canopy, so I did it right. ... show more

I bought this a while ago, but just now opened it up, only to find out that so many of the pieces I needed to put it together are missing, not to mention, the directions are just as bad, if not worse than IKEA. Not sure I would recommend…

Good replacement for my green Awning, unfortunately they don't last very long. The sun beats them up alot. Spray sunscreen on them. They as an awning SHOULD be made out of an SPF material. Plan of them dropping and ripping apart in a couple years.

I was pleasantly surprised by the beauty of these awnings as well as the ease of installation. I am 91 years old and I put them up in one afternoon. The instructions are terrible but fortunately it is pretty simple to tell how they go together. A tip. Put the back rail in the awning and install on the wall before putting the side and front pieces in place. This keeps the frame out of the way while you attach the back to the wall. ... show more

Absolutely the worst installation instruction. Have put together many things thru the years, with no problems. This basically is a step by step but it doesn't work if you follow the step by step! Needed to buy longer bolts for hanger rods to install properly. Called customer service, no help either.
