It was about a half inch narrower than the depth of my drawers, but that doesn’t bother me. It doesn’t have to fit perfectly front back just fit well side to side and that’s up to whoever cuts it. Excellent value for the price. The only reason for not giving 5 stars is the stupidity of showing 18" as the width in the large print, when they acknowledge further down that it is 17-3/8" (which happens to be just the size I needed). As for quality, I find it to be excellent. It is about 1/8" thick, cushiony with the same pattern on both sides, easy to cut with a sharp box knife (don't rely on the pattern for straight lines, that's not what the pattern is for, use a straightedge). I like the gray color better than black for the kinds of things I am going to use it for. I don't know yet about durability, you can compress it with your fingers and it bounces back, but I don't know how well it would stand up to a lot of weight over time. I'm not going to be putting heavy things on it myself. ... show more

I researched quite a few different cabinet mats before deciding to buy this one, and I'm glad I did. Here are my thoughts: PROS - The width required minimal trimming for the shelves of my storage cabinets. - The material doesn't slide on the metal shelves, and also keeps whatever you put on it in place. - It's easy to trim with a pair of scissors. - It protects the surface of whatever you pace it on. - The material also inherently reduces the noise of placing items on the metal shelves. CONS - Having other widths would be useful for different shelf sizes. - The price isn't the cheapest, but it's worth the few extra dollars. Bottom line: I recommend it and I'd buy it again.
