For $54.95 this is a great case, the foam is not the “pluck” type that comes standard on Apache or Pelican cases it is dense closed cell foam; the plastic case isn’t built like Fort Knox but it is nice and appears well made. The Nalpak or Guard Dog inserts are better, but cost $$$ so much more; if you collect $500, $1000 knives this is probably not the case for you. I almost went with a Nalpak knife insert and a Harbor Freight Apache 3800 case….after shipping and tax would have been more than $170.00! A Pelican 1450 case would have been $214.00 plus tax and shipping bringing the total to more than $250.00……..and only hold 40 knives. Nanuk cases have Guard Dog inserts and a hold 40 knives also, they run $179.95 plus tax and free shipping for orders over $150.00. If you have very long or wide blade knives those other cases will fit those knives better. I only have a couple of wide knives and I just cut the foam out accordingly (see photo). I placed almost all of my knives flat and I didn’t have any issues with my knives falling out of the case upon opening. For small knives I cut the discarded foam pieces to size so there aren’t a lot of little pieces stacked together. As I said earlier this is a great case for the price! ... show more

    • Knives fall out when its opened
I love the case other then the fact that when I open it the knives fall out of the slots. I understand you can use some of the foam to fill in the gaps but 1) who wants to do this every time you take a knife out and 2) it doesn't seem to help much. Maybe I’m missing something but this seems to be a serious product flaw. ... show more

This knife case is the cats ass !! Fits all my knives big to small. If your thinking about buying the cheap cases don’t waste your time. Just pony up the extra $ and get a case the fits all your needs. You won’t regret it !!!!!
