I chose this luggage set in the champagne color, it's a very nice color and the set overall is good looking. This 4 piece set would be a great gift for a young person who does not have any luggage. The colors are so appealing and it covers a lot of bases to get someone started with some travel basics. As far as serious luggage though, it seems like it's not as rugged as it could be. I have never had a hard sided suitcase before and did not expect the plastic to be so light and flexible as this one is. I'm sure it's good enough for most things but as an example, I have watched luggage being loaded onto cruise ships, and they stack the suitcases 6 or 8 high in the bins that they swing onto the ship, and people pack very heavy bags for cruises. If this one was on the bottom of that stack I have my doubts how it would perform. It's cool that the wheels are removable and install so easily. But the fact that they're held in by a little latch makes me think that if you go to check this on major transport like a plane or ship, you should probably pop those wheels off (easy to do, there's a little release button) and put them either inside the suitcase or in your personal bag. They are not super rugged in construction. All that aside, the handle is long enough and seems strong, I am 5'7" and in a long stride I did not catch my heel on the rolling bag behind me like happens when the handle is too short. The hard side suitcase has the clamshell construction with two equal halves. This is different than what I've had in the past where you have one deep case with a shallow lid that opens up and you can lean it against the wall. With the clamshell construction you have to lay the whole thing open on the bed to access the interior. You can't just lift the lid and peek at what's inside. I'm sure it works fine and has the obvious advantage that things aren't buried in the one deep compartment, they're spread out in more shallow layers. Just might take a little getting used to for me. I like how they made the compartments separated with a zippered divider, that makes sense since you can open the top without everything falling into the bottom compartment. It's pretty well thought out. All of the zippers on this suitcase seem well constructed and strong. The little hard attache is an odd one. I wish it had a shoulder strap but it doesn't. Also the top handle is kind of awkward as it wants to retract flat. When the bag is full it will be heavy enough that the handle will work better. However it is very cute! And a good size. It looks cool and proportional sitting on top of the suitcase, attached to the handle with an elastic strap. I was surprised how much I like the tote bag. It looks better in person than it does in the product page images. The fabric is a good tight weave with a nice sheen, it's a good size and the expandable bottom works perfectly. The straps are reinforced and the zipper is fine. It's lined! That was what surprised me most. It has a pretty cream colored striped lining. The little cosmetic bag is lined too, very nice. Once again I do wish that the tote bag had a shoulder strap. I might be able to rig something up, it really would be better with a cross body strap. The best thing about this set is how attractive it is. I wanted something different for a honeymoon trip. I didn't want to bring the same old anything really. Something light and light hearted, that glows, right? This fits the intended purpose very well. This set is fine if you don't need something heavy duty. It's a good value for the 4 pieces, and it's kind of fun to have something that isn't strictly utilitarian, it has some style.

This is a nice, though eclectic, carry-on luggage set. Each individual piece has it's own pro's and con's and, quite honestly, it sort of looks like they picked four random styles and put them all together into this kit. Yes, the colors kind of match (but not exactly). Tiny details, like zippers, are different on each. My favorite piece is what they call a "storage bag" or the soft-sided bag. It has a zipper at the bottom you can unzip to make the bag deeper and hold more. There are a couple of internal pockets to store smaller items; and one external zippered pocket. I haven't quite figured out the loops with the snap on each end of the bag. The "hard-sided" spinner suitcase is nice, but the 20" size could be a bit small for some folks. The inner flap is nice in that it not only secures half of the inside contents it also has two zippered pockets for you to place smaller items or documents. The pull handle works smoothly and the wheels (which you can snap on and off) are really smooth and work well. The hard-side is not as durable as I have seen on other suitcases. What they call a cosmetic bag is really designed to be carried on top of the spinner suitcase and not by itself. Due to its smaller size it has less "give" to the sides and would better protect the contents. I am not sure how the airlines would respond to this "double" kind of carry-on. Finally there is also a soft-sided toiletries bag (really a small pouch) you can place in any of the three other larger bags. Overall an interesting set of luggage but I don't think you would ever travel using all four pieces at once, but rather a mix of pieces based on what your needs are.
