Bought as a Christmas gift for me 5 yr old. He LOVES this thing. We will sit in the floor and okay with it for HOURS. The connector on the under side of the car does come off easily. I hate that since he just got it but its still a fun toy to play with.

I always loved slot car racing when I was a kid. I bought this one for my grandkids to play with while visiting. I showed some restraint and bought this age-appropriate, battery powered set instead of much nicer AC-powered sets. It’s just OK. It’s impossible to get all the track pieces completely secured; when you press one edge together, a gap will open on the other end of the turn. Go to the other turn, close a gap, another gap will open. After about 30 minutes total use, one of tracks started slowing down/starting/stopping. Again, it’s not a hard-core race set, just a safe alternative for very young kids. I’m happy to have it but won’t be buying expansion track pieces for it; I’ll hold off until the kids are a little older and I can get a higher performing, AC-powered set. ... show more

I was anxious to buy this for my grandchild, for Christmas. It was all set up and the yellow car would not work at all. I know things like this sometimes happen. I contacted the seller and they responded they do not send single pieces. To send it back, so I did. I was hesitant to order another set, but I really wanted too. After a week or two I received a yellow car, but the set was already gone. I would highly recommend it and may order a new set for his birthday. I was very excited to have this set for my grandson. Multiple issues starting with remotes not working on a regular basis. Then when it did work the cars are not made well and flew off the track. I am suggesting that the track be triple width. In addition, much stronger cars . I had bought a Fisher Price set for my children 30 years ago. Found it and compared that to this set and "significant" quality and cars were 10X larger than this box--and track "never" came apart. Just an FYI if you want this to succeed. UPDATE - I returned this product because on day two the cars were sluggish so I assumed it was the batteries, I replaced the C-cell batteries and there was no difference in the speed or response. we also tried only one car at a time. I tried to contact the distributor but no one responded to me and I wanted to return immediately as I was going on vacation and would return when the return window closed for this purchase. because my granddaughter loved this so much I have ordered a second one but if it doesn't work more than a day or two it will go back and we will find a different company to purchase through Once I figured out how to put the risers on, everything was fine but my three-year-old granddaughter even helped assemble it.
