I absolutely love these. I am 5’5”, 195 lbs, wear a size 16-18, depending on the manufacturer and style. I bought a size XXL, which is actually what I usually wear because I like a little room to move. I was concerned that these would swallow me whole because Carharrt tends to run big, but I decided that I would be so mad if I ordered an XL and they were snug that I erred on the side of something larger. These are perfect. If you are buying them to look cute and fit like a glove, you’re n the wrong place. If you want something that is roomy, durable, has deep pockets, had a tiny bit of stretch, and looks cute because you wish you were a hobbit, then this is perfect. I highly recommend these. I think they are true to size, but also a very relaxed fit. Awesome for rolling around in the yard, which is what I do. I would buy these again in a heartbeat, especially because I they were also a good price for a quality article of clothing that I plan to be buried in. ... show more

I'm 5'3" and 268 pounds at time of writing, with generous hips and bust. I have a long torso, and short legs. I purchased a women's 3x and I honestly could have gone down to a 2x and probably should have ordered the short version - these overalls are quite long on my legs! They're roomy, which I'm taking in stride: perfect for layering in cold weather. The material is lightweight, but feels sturdy. I like the way they look on me. I LOVE the pockets - there's so many pockets! DEEP pockets! I find the adjustments on the straps to be easy to use, and I also like the clasping mechanism. It's not a snap and it's not a hook. The zipper on the zipper pocket is nice and smooth, and has not gotten stuck. They are a dark black, so I will be washing them by themselves (or with some of my faded pants for dye...) first, to avoid dyeing my other clothes. Just in case. Looking very forward to wearing these overalls as often as I can. ... show more

Been wanting a pair for the fall/cooler season coming up. I originally purchased a M and tried them on. They fit but baggy. I was looking for a fitted look. I usually wear M/L In regular sizes so I sized down. Well I had to size down again and for a size Small. PERFECT FIT. Love these! These are my first pair of Carhartt overalls, but I own several pairs of Duluth. The buckles are different on these and took a little getting used to. They’re nice and rugged and I appreciate all the pockets. I’m 5’4” with short legs and the regular length was a bit long until I put on my hiking boots. They’re the right length with the boots. I didn’t notice any strange odors out of the packaging and I’m very sensitive to smells. I really like the pink. I shoot nature videos and the color looks great! I switched from Duluth because I just don’t like the colors and patterns they’ve put out recently. I’m glad I gave these a shot. I like them so much, I ordered another set in white. ... show more

    • Completely awesome except the straps!
I love love love the fit and comfort of these overalls! They are soft as can be right out of the bag, stretchy, and feel like they’ll be really durable. I also love the warm brown color, which is a rusty earth time. I usually take a size Small in clothes but Medium was suggested for me, and it fits just right: roomy without being baggy, and surprisingly flattering. However! Fastening and unfastening the straps is strangely awkward. The little buttons are rectangular and have to be maneuvered just so through the metal clasps or they won’t go through. Not a good design at all. Especially if you’ve been working outside all day and dash in for a bathroom break at the last possible minute ; ) I don’t know why Carhartt would make that design choice, but oh well. These are super comfortable. Exactly what I was looking for. Lightweight and not stiff at all to hinder mobility in them. Great value at the sale price so I ordered two pairs. They don’t smell if that were an issue for some people, other than “new”. The top clips may be slightly tricky to undo if you are pushing it running to the toilet in a frantic, but I like that they don’t unlock easily with slack in the straps, like other overalls have. Easy to get on and off with loose fit. I’m 5’3” and got the XS short. I have the straps almost all the way out so they don’t look like high waters or go up my crotch when bending all the way at the knee. Reinforced knees aren’t super thick, good for bending and will use a knee pad when on concrete anyway for joints @39yrs old. Large torso pouch would make it easy to layer, but I’m only 100lbs so I could fit a sweater or 2. Love the pockets of many sizes, the zipper chest pocket and places for tools to hang. I’m glad I got two. The light pair is almost too cute to ruin actually working in, I may have to order a 3rd! I LOVE these!! ... show more

I bought the regular length overalls and they were long enough (has some extra length to it). I’m 5’4 and about 145lb and I bought the medium size that says 8-10. I have wide hips so there is not a lot of room if I want to layer in winter. I debated getting the larger size but it’s fine. I possibly could fit yoga pants underneath. The straps have some room to adjust. I wasn’t expecting the style of clasps on the straps (I didn’t read any reviews prior to buying). Although the clasps aren’t bad, they do take two hands to unclasp. I also noticed a button hole on the front and was curious as to what it was for but I read that it’s a signature design that has been there throughout the design of the overalls. I read through the reviews to see if I could find out what the button hole was for but I had to search online and it said used to be for a pocket watch to be able to connect and sit in the pocket below. I think it’s neat Carhartt continues to use it in their design. They’re a comfortable material and I was able to work on an outdoor floor sanding project and had no issues with the straps coming off while I was crouched down and hunched over. Fit right. Its just long because I have a short stature. The quality is really good. I also love the color. I plan to wear it on my day off or 4th of July. Comfortable to wear.
