ok this review is for all the good ole boys with beer guts, love handles or corn fed. if you're slim/skinny or fit stop reading here. alright men... im 6'-1" 220lbs and wear 36W x 32L in jeans. my beer gut measures 40" round! i put a tape measure around the widest part of my gut to get bib size... or ballpark. havent worn bibs in ~40yrs, but im back now... just gettin old, fat and belts aint workin no more! ive been wearing my Bernies (duck) and Red Kaps (denim) for bout a month now... really like em! i live down south, so ill be wearing bibs fall, winter and early spring. after reading 100's of reviews, here's my take on sizing for carhartt flex bibs (w/pics). X1 size up is the 38W x 32L khaki, washed in warm and hung dry. im wearing a heavy carhartt T-shirt in this pic. the fit is perfect! good all around movement, can get both thumbs between my gut and bibs. ill be wearing the bibs as casual wear with T-shirt or long sleeves. X2 sizes up is the gray 40W x 32L, washed and dried in the dryer. BIBS DID SHRINK, very little in waist and bout ~1/4-1/2" in length. biggest difference in fit is obviously in the waist. in the pic i'm wearing a heavy sweatshirt and long johns. bibs fit great! plenty of movement without feeling like a mummy! ill be wearing the bibs when temps get below 32* doing outside work. so i hope the pics give a good comparison on X1 vs X2 sizes up. carhartt's always run a little big on me vs other brands. i cant imagine wearing my jean size in this bib with my beer gut! im retired now, so i wont commit on durability, but in my 38yrs of construction, there was not a brand of work clothing i didn't rip, tear, cut, brun or whatever... thats why i called them "my work clothes!" workin 12hrs 7 days a week... give me a good pair of work boots and something comfortable to wear, and these bibs are COMFORTABLE!!!

I got these for my bf’s bday gift, and he LOVES them! I looked everywhere for these. The gray ones are hard to find in common sizes. So glad Amazon finally got some in stock! These are thinner and move a little easier than the original tan Carhartt coveralls like my dad always wore. They have a “slim fit”. I worried that I should’ve got him a 36 bc that’s what size pants he usually wears, but the 34 works okay if he leaves the top side buttons undone, which I like the look of anyways (plus he’s trying to lose weight lol). The 36’s would’ve worked too tho. These give the perfect “sexy workin man” vibes that I love. They make a great gift. Any guy would love to get these!

These are my go-to bibs for daily wear. These are not as heavy as denim but so much more comfortable. They aren't quite as rugged as denim, but they do wear a long time. The knees wear out first. Even then I wear them here on the farm until they shred. Takes about 3 years to wear them out. But for sure these bibs are by far the most comfortable to wear every day.

Overall, I love these overalls... (get it?). But seriously, a great piece of clothing here. I wish the side pockets were deeper, as I don't feel safe leaving my phone in them, but a zipped chest pocket works to store electronics (phone, airpods) while I work. My only problem with these so far is a had a few manufacturer defective snags in the cloth, but I cut the threads off with a scissors and a dab of superglue stopped the run. I will probably buy more pairs of these in the future.

Lighter material but seems tough. Worn several times and no rips or tears. I usually order 32x34 to give myself space for over other clothes but saw people saying they were long so went 30x34. Still too big, can wear them but straps all the way to the top and pockets way down low. Also, the attachment of straps is not the usual loop over button but these tricky metal clasps can be frustrating as you have to get it lined up in this exact way to put them on and take them off. Almost ready to get my knife out and cut the straps at the end of a long hot day! While the pockets are very low for me they are roomy and have both left (double) and right (single + hammer loop) tool/knife pockets. I love that. And not cargo pockets but the regular knife, tool size, though the right is a bit bigger. Ideally I'd have them reversed, but glad to have left leg pockets. Bib pockets are good though the little short pencil? pockets are too short to retain a pencil or marker, they fall out. Don't know what they are supposed to be good for unless you cut your fingers off and need a place to put them - then perfect. The zipper pouch and the other two will all hold a notepad or phone. I haven't used the zipper pouch much since the overalls are so long I have the bib right up to my neck where further bulk would be uncomfortable. So I am thinking of another pair and would like to know if the 30x30 would be better? If it's shorter so straps can come down and pockets go up. For $90 on lightweight overalls I would like a better fit. Update: the coin pocket, the smaller one within the right front pocket is way too deep. I usually use this for drill/driver bits or other small things while working but it's too deep to reach to bottom with fingers and awkwardly located to stitch shut halfway up since it's within the main pocket. Just sort of a bummer and screws me up trying to dig something out of it when I use it out of habit formed by every other such pocket in the history of making pants that is half as deep.
