When these arrived, the tag actually did say "Slim Fit" -- not straight like this listing says. Probably just a branding/name change that hasn't been updated everywhere yet. I generally wear 36x30 in most pants, but after reading reviews, I decided to size up to a 38 waist and I'm glad I did. I think the 36 would have fit, but likely would have been tight. I prefer the looser fit anyway. I haven't pulled out a tape measure but these definitely seem way longer than a 30 inseam. I wish they came in a 28 inseam like some other Carhartt pants. I have to put about 3 cuffs in the bottom of these to hit where I like, which is just kind of covering the top of my 6" work boots, but they still look good. Might see about hemming them because the cuff just feels bulky with the thicker material of these pants. I'll echo some other reviews and agree that the zipper pocket doesn't really make sense. It's super small and just makes the left side of the pants feel bulkier than it needs to be. I guess you could put some loose change in there? Keys maybe. I don't know. It's not really convenient for something like a knife or a pencil that you want quick access to. The other thing that I find a little annoying is the location of the belt loops. I usually clip my keys to one of the right belt loops with a carabiner, then stuff them in my right back pocket, but the loop on these is too far forward to do that. Guess I need to switch to the zipper pocket. Regardless, I still like the pants more than most others and just ordered another pair.

Nice work pants, thick but not to thick, not bad flex. Really a 34 waist but purchased a 36 waist due to wanting a slim/straight leg and Usually there’s never enough leg room in the 34 waist for me. After two washes they tightened up in the waist and fit perfect in the quad area. I’m 6’0 210 lbs,

I’m a carpenter by trade, but I wanted some pants to wear out with friends. I find the only Carhartt pants that survive the job site for more than a season are the USA made “firm duck” double front pants. These are comfortable to wear, relatively soft, have a little stretch and are really great casual pants. I like the color and the fit is pretty nice. I’m tall and slim, and like to wear slim pants. These fit a little more snug than Levi’s 501’s, in a good way for me. Overall, I’d buy them again if there were more color options, and they are definitely not for work. The knees would blow out in a matter of months.

I do not like the Barrel Leg fit of most carharrt pants. It’s a struggle to find slim fit or tapered pants. These are actually tapered but not too tight. I love these pants. These are much softer than the duck material. These have a great stretch to them. I highly recommend them. Notice: the waist does run small. I am a 38 and the 38 fits snug after a wash. They do stretch out to a 39 or so. Just keep this in mind when ordering. It’s hard because they definitely stretch a size up after a day. They shrink again after wash. I wish they had a cell phone pocket. The small zipper pocket on the left is useless to me. I do not know what it’s really for. I would happily trade it for a cell phone pocket. These have a stitch at the knee you can kind of feel. It goes away after an hour or so. I think it’s necessary for the taper so it’s worth it.

Update: Just took these up in the mountains and used them hiking/fishing. It was mostly cold in the 50s and rainy the time we were there and only hit 75 one or two days. In the 75 degree weather my legs were sweating while hiking. I switched to shorts. But where they shine is in the cold weather. I wish I had taken 2 pairs. So for summer I will definitely not wear these pants. But winter time they will be prime time. Great fit, thick and rugged. Again not made for SoCal summers. TAPERED LEG! YES!!! These pants are awesome. I purchased these for camping and home repair. I just wish there was more than just 3 colors. At least a dark brown would be cool. They are thick so summertime will be an issue. Otherwise great pants.

These pants are exactly what I was looking for. Not crazy baggy like most work pants, but still loose enough to fit over boots. The length is really long tho, I’m usually a 32 inseam, however the 30 inch inseam fit perfectly in this pant.
