Very warm and fits true to size. Thicker quality material that is water resistant. Can withstand a hard rain for about 5-10 minutes before it starts absorbing the water. The colar/hood combo is interesting but not uncomfortable. Would not wear to a nicer event because of the hood.

Finally figured out the Carhartt sizing. I’m 5’9” and 175 pounds with a chest size of 42-43. I ordered the medium in the loose fit and it fits me perfectly. If I order the relaxed fit in size medium it’s too small. I like the elastic hem of the sweatshirt to fit just below the belt line of my pants, not half way down my butt. Exactly what I wanted. Heavyweight, solid half zipper. Extra mini pocket in kangaroo pouch. Good to wear on its own with no jacket. rain defender another plus. Absolutely, love how heavy it feels. A little pricey. But it feels like it will last. Great for the winter.
