I've never used communications before on my motorcycle, but some friends of mine convinced me to go on an off road motorcycle run this past weekend. My first off road trip in over 25 years. In the group text they were talking about their Cardo units so I decided to buy one. Lets just say I was thoroughly blow away with the quality and sound. When I first put it in my helmet and testing the sound with music off my phone, I was utterly amazed at the quality. I don't think the sound system in my car was this good. I then made a test call to my daughter, again, the sound was amazing and she couldn't even tell I was using a Bluetooth device. Using the intercom while on the run was an incredible experience. Getting updates on the trail ahead, or when someone went down, being able to know right away that they were ok. I don't think I'll ever ride without this again. I was getting a bit irritated with the issues I was having with another brand. My riding group and I decided to go ahead and switch over. Super glad we did. We still get interference but the sound quality and ease of use far surpasses any interference issues. I’ve hade this for a month now. Here’s what’s great. The battery life is fantastic for music. I normally don’t communicate via blue tooth. 6hrs of riding and I still had 75% battery left. Easy to set up and pair with phone. Love the magnet connection to the helmet. Wiring inside the helmet is easy. Speakers are very loud…… but here the bad. Minimal base in the music. If you turn on the base option in the app and the volume up the speakers vibrate so much the now the voices and treble is distorted. Loud mode is the best option but little base. I have the Skull Candy low rider headphones and connected the Cardo to those to see if it’s just the speakers and it is. The JBL 40mm speakers just don’t have a large enough magnet to push that good base. But I understand because of the limited space in the helmet. My skull Candy low rider speakers would never be able to fit either. So as a whole, they’re good. I’m keeping them. Are they 350.00 good? Eeeehhh? ... show more

The sound quality and volume are great for music, phone calls and group chats. Each helmet is different so you will need to figure out the best way to install it. In most of the cases you need to remove the interior (like when you wash it) to be able to fit the wires (2 speakers + 1 mic).

I bought this for riding in my bike club. It works great and very durable. Easy to install and program. It was very expensive over $600.00. The problem I had with it was in the quality of the mic. They need to reevaluate how they made the mic to adhere to the helmet. It has a little velcro sticker that keeps falling off. I ended up buying a heavier gage velcro but it too keeps falling off because the glue surface on the mic is too small. I ended up returning it and going with a one piece model meaning that the mic is physically connected to the transmitter. ... show more

Ok, are they worth it yes, are they perfect no, here’s the down low. I bought these to communicate with my wife who is a new rider and they are worth every penny for that. I’ve only used these with the two that we have and they sync up instantly every time with no issue. Usually get 1/4 to a 1/2 mile range with the all the hills and curves. There’s no delay when she’s back, it’s like she never left, you can’t tell a difference. As for the commands it’s hit or miss. I found “hey Cardo”works better for me then “hey siri”. If you expect to use all the commands when riding then your setting your self up for disappointment. Set your music up before the ride on Spotify or whatever you want. The intercom will come and go as you talk and just mute the music a bit. Intercom is clear no issue. Answers calls with ease, call clarity is great. I think the whole hey cardo thing is ok , but requires exact clear verbiage of the commands. For some reason my Siri will beep in and then beep again cutting off my command but I have a love hate relationship with Siri long before I connected to the cardo. It does exactly what I need it to do, talk back and forth with the wife and play music. The speakers are pretty good,not great. Your not going to get top notch quality treble and bass out of a motorcycle helmet. There’s too many variables, like does your helmet fit properly, does it have spots for the speakers, is your helmet quiet. Do your ears line up with the speakers.. I have a AGV k6 and it’s perfect. Could it be better sound sure, but I can give some of that up for reliability. I don’t need noise cancellation except for when im talking to someone on the phone. It’s a helmet on a motorcycle being pummeled with wind noise, it’s not going to be spectacular. Plus you still need to hear what’s going on around you. Buy them you won’t regret it, except maybe a little if your me and they go on sale a week after you buy them for 100$ less on Father’s Day. Oh well. ... show more

Cardo is life, cardo is love. Have a bold put it on my wife’s helmet split this with a buddy on Amazon prime day. Nice upgrade from the bold.
