Description

The Scala Rider Freedom 2 PLUS communication system has a slim line and sleek aerodynamic waterproof design measuring only 16mm from top to bottom. With the Freedom 2 PLUS you can connect to any Bluetooth headset of any substantial brand and stream all the music you want from your smartphone and control, share or just listen to your favorite tune while out on the road with thin but highly powerful 40mm speakers and an advanced processor - these give a great sound from a small area! The Freedom 2 PLUS also allows you to answer calls, make calls and control your mobile device either with the touch of a finger or via voice control. With a built-in FM radio with RDS for automatic selection of the strongest signal so you don't miss out you can stay listening wherever you are. This automatically adjusts your sound volume based on the outside ambient noise - one more thing you don't have to worry about. You can share your play list or favorite radio station with your passenger and get full control through one simple and intuitive app, the Cardo Connect app. Why not download it now to see what it offers? The Freedom 2 PLUS also charges while you ride. Just plug your unit to a battery pack or your 12V charger and turn your unit on. The two-way intercom keeps you connected at all times and is very simple to set up and to use. You can also merge any incoming phone call in to the intercom conversation. Included in the box is the Freedom 2 PLUS intercom, Freedom audio kit, 40mm high-definition speakers, corded microphone, glue plate, hybrid microphone, rectangular Velcro pads, square Velcro pads, speaker relocates (boosters) and a USB Cable as well as instructions.

Top Amazon Reviews

  • Great product for rider-passenger communication
JUST A HEADS UP: I've noticed that reviews for all versions are combined on this page. So to make clear - this is for Scalarider FREECOM 2 + dual pack. This system is simply amazing. Installation is pretty easy and you have glued or clipped options for attaching the unit to the helmet. Sound quality is descent enough. The fact that it comes pre-paired with the second unit is very handy, although pairing is super easy and fast, also with the phone. The battery life is amazing! I simply don't need to worry about it. I charge maybe once a week while I'm at work. I love that almost any feature you can switch on/off. This is great because for example I usually sing a long with my music inside my helmet (don't laugh, I know you do it too...) And the voice activation keeps coming on and killing my buzz. I simply turned it off and can now sing freely. Another example is the auto-volume (volume goes up or down according to background noises). I personally like it, but I guess some people might get annoyed, so again, you can simply turn that off or even control it's sensetivety. Another big plus is both the mobile app and the community website. You can configure many options very easily from there and download updates from the website. The reason why I gave 4 instead of 5 stars is the lack of support I got. I was facing a small issue of not being able to share music from my phone with the passenger. I still didn't got an answer from support but could figure it out by playing with the options through the PC web app. Although I could fix it, it wasn't intuitive and the support was bad. That's the only reason for one star down. One last thing is that the speakers were actually too big for my helmet. Not neccesarily a bad thing, but worth checking and measuring before. ... show more

  • Works great
I love these so much I purchased one for every helmet. It’s pretty clear talking to each rider.

  • Works after adjustments
To start off I bought the dual set to replace my Sena set I sold years ago. For the price, I’m happy with my purchase. Pros: Communication between my unit and my wife’s is nice and crisp. Setup is easy and accessing intercom and other settings is simple with the phone app. Volume can be nice and loud once you set it in the app. When talking over Bluetooth no one can tell I am riding 60+mph on the highway, and my bike is loud. Had the headset for 3 weeks and about 9 rides (30mins average) and have not recharged the headset yet. Sitting around 60-75% battery life. Cons: Included cable is trash. Unable to update firmware until I used a different cable from another device. If you are having trouble updating, try a different cable. Volume out of the box is very low, even when turned all the way up via headset. In order to change this you need to download their app and from there you to control max/minimum volume values. ... show more

  • Best lower end helmet communicator
This is the second set of these I have ordered from Amazon. First set needed replaced after one of them fell off helmet and got ran over (my fault), but still worked for another 2 yrs until being caught in a monsoon. The other one still works fine, but wanted a matched/paired set. Thats when I bought another pair of them. For the money my wife and I cant live without them (It took 2 days not having them to realize it). These work flawlessly for what we use them for, my wife and I have separate bikes and these are a must. Yes the speakers are not hat great, but can be upgraded fairly cheap. I bought the IASUS XSound 2.1 helmet speakers and we are highly satisfied with the sound. I recommend these to everyone. Yes they make better ones with more features and able to pair with more riders, with better sounding speakers, but the Freecom 2 Plus does eveything I need them to do at a very good price. They are simple to use and the battery lasts a very long time, I cant ask for anything better for the price. I am HIGHLY SATISFIED, thanks Amazon for the best price!! ... show more

  • Great communications device for the $$$
Freecom 2+ is a great unit form the money. Its very light and thin. Very low profile on the helmet. Simple to operate once you learn the commands. I personally don't care for the voice recognition. I prefer to just use the buttons. Sound quality is good with speakers. I would upgrade to the JBL, but again I prefer to use ear buds rather than the speakers. I would rate it 5 stars but out of the box i had some set up issues and needed tech support. Once the issue was resolved...No issues and working great. Ride On and crank it up!!!! ... show more

  • Would recommend
I waited for months to be able to buy this and it just so happen to be on sale for 2, great for me since me and my husband both ride. My one qualm with this product is that you have to pair it to your phone every single time and all the buttons and combinations of pressing them for different functions is a bit confusing but in the long run I really like this product. It also promotes wearing my helmet since I can jam out to my tunes! ... show more

  • Quality Music and adequate communications device
So, I just started riding 5 months ago. I was using my airpods and nearly ripping off my ears each time I took my helmet off (SHOEI SR-RF). I mainly ride alone but sometimes daughter/wife hop on the back of my CanAm Ryker and we go for a spin. Overall - really good device for the price. Honestly, you don't need to have BOSE quality sound going while you are riding - you should be paying attention to your surroundings. That said, the sound on these is really, really good. I was a radio DJ for years and the quality is great. Could use a bit more bass but that's fine. The communication between riders could be a bit better - there is a definite pause and we find ourselves repeating a lot because it gets garbled or breaks up. Again, I use it mainly for the music side of it and it's great. ... show more

  • WORTH IT
Honestly. Best damn buy of the year. Had a sena, a cardo 4x and even a freecom. Obviously it ain’t as good as those but for half the price it’s amazing
