My car is an old one, and does not have any steering wheel control. But as I upgraded my stereo to android unit, I decided to buy this so I can control some functions of the head unit from the steering wheel. Installation was pretty straightforward, as long as you have an android head units with pinout manual. Just connecting receiver's wires to key1, key 2, power and ground was everything needed. Only thing to note is, power and ground must be from the head unit, as connecting some external power will not make it work. (So, don't test it with portable power bank, etc) Once installed, it was pretty good. After I mapped the functions of the unit to the buttons, I could conveniently control the music and navigation without touching the screen. I have used it for 3 months, and only problem I had was, the included battery lasted only about 2 months. Didn't expect much from the one that was included, so I changed it with the one I bought from the local store. I will see how long it lasts. ... show more

This thing's cheap and feels it. If you are imagining the rotary wheel being solid and providing a solid, positive detent as it clicks on each increment, you will be disappointed. The wheel/knob is a loose, spring actuated thing which doesn't sit very tightly in the housing, kind of wobbles around, and does not provide any sort of really solid detent like you would expect based on practically every interaction you may have ever had with a wheel or knob in a vehicle. It just has this soft, barely detectable "click", and feels like it will come apart at any moment. The buttons themselves aren't particular "feelsome" either. I just can't see any way this is going to stand up to usage over time. Only reason I'm keeping it is because I want the guts, in hopes I can 3D print a better housing/wheel for it, but not sure about that yet. ... show more

I have been installed many electronic devices in the past. This device stops my radio as soon as it connects to my car. I used a multimeter to detect the voltage on my car as it connected to my car's accessory power, and my voltage dropped to 6 volts. It is defective.

This little device is something you love or hate... It all depends on your ability to get used to it. It does what it's supposed to do, namely control an Android Head Unit. It has eight controls which can be custom set to each individual likening, regardless of the graphic on the buttons.

I can't say they are easy to install because drilling the perfect size hole to sink then into the steering wheel takes tools, skills and patience. My semi truck doesn't have air bags so getting into the wheel was easy. They function just as expected. Short glow which is visible in the dark. I haven't had them long enough to know about the battery life. ... show more

Works pretty well. A must have if you have one of the tablet size aftermarket stereos without physical buttons. Sometimes vol- doesn't respond if the volume is way up. I'll try to change out the batteries. I plan on embedding these in my wheel, when I do that I'll probably hardwire the power to them through a vreg if I have a usable hot in the wheel. ... show more

install.. kinda a pain, because it needs to be on the same line as the stereo.. nearest to it.. kinda temperamental. but done right it works... not really a fan of the dial.. if you turn it too fast it goes up and down on the volume.. but if your slow.. works ok
