So I read the book and I learned A LOT. I didn't know about dealer quotas, the best time of the month for me to get the best deal, what's a short deal or short sale, what homework should I do ahead of time, should I lease or buy? So many things that I never knew I needed to know before I get a car, especially being a woman. I've heard that car dealers take advantage of women, and I was afraid to do it alone. This seems like a rehash of readily available information on the internet. The author claims to have been in the business since 1971, so I thought a book discussing insider tips might include some of the lousy tactics that car salesman use. For example the pressure cooker technique of telling someone this deal won't last forever or the delay tactic of "needing to talk to the manager" and then going on a 15 minute walk around the dealership to put the buyer at a disadvantage by exhausting them. I'm not in the car business but I'm well aware of these tactics. ... show more
