Description

The Jr. Tyette tap shoe from Capezio features a thick, low heel, a soft microfiber linings, and a padded collar for extra comfort and support. A grosgrain ribbon ties on the center front, and a rubber sole patch helps to steady your every move. Salvatore Capezio was born in 1871 in Muro Lucano, Italy. Uninterested in following in his father's footsteps as a construction engineer, he became an artist of his own right, a cobbler. In 1887, at the age of 17, he opened his shop on Broadway and 39th Street, diagonally across from the old Metropolitan Opera House in New York City. Soon, the shop became a meeting place for dancers who would stop by to discuss their needs and to get a pair of his shoes. As Capezio's popularity grew, dancers from around the world made it a point to visit him and purchase his shoes. The innovation of the products that Salvatore Capezio created and the camaraderie he shared with the dancers molded the direction that his company would follow. In this image, the Capezio brand was established to promote and recognize ongoing achievements and participation in dance. Capezio products remain in the forefront in quality and in technological advances with innovations like the split-sole, the stretch-insert, the Dansneaker and the Tapsneaker. Capezio believes that their success is dependent upon the individual commitment of each customer to continually set new standards of creativity and performance, while preserving a reputation for dependability and distinction. Capezio pledges their support and dedication to the advancement of dance, theater and recreation in communities worldwide.

  • These do run small
Size: 9.5 Color: Black Patent
These are perfect, especially for the price and those first learning to tap. They do run small. I wear an 8.5 M. So I ordered a 9.5 M. Fit perfect!!!

  • A good first time tap shoe.
The shoes fit as expected but they run small. I'd follow the guidelines about buying larger than you normally wear. I ordered wide and these were just wide enough. Okay, barely wide enough. They fit fine and only pinch across the top sometimes which might just be because of the design of the shoe. I have a wide foot, a high arch, and a high instep. I blame my high instep for the pinch. I usually need good arch support but I only bought these to learn to tap for exercise. I don't wear them long enough for arch support to be a concern. If I stick with this I'll buy a new pair that are more of an oxford style, the Mary Jane style just isn't great on my foot. I also bought Bonnie Franklin's "I Hate to Exercise, I Love To Tap" to get me to exercise. Cute shoes that feel fine when I'm trying to learn to tap. I wear a very thin sock with these, nylons might work for a better fit. ... show more

  • Great Shoe; Great Price
Size: 10 Color: Black Patent
Five Stars! Highly Recommended. We ordered a size and a half up. My daughter wears a women's 8.5, so we ordered a 10, and she has room to grow, yet they fit well for her to dance. I would say order one size up to last for a complete dance season.

  • Great top shoes
Size: 7.5 Wide Color: Black Patent
We got these for my daughter, who has wide feet. The fit was great and they seemed to tap just as well as other brands.

  • Nice quality came fast
Size: 7.5 Wide Color: Black Patent
I did the try to buy option. Although this is a great way to try things and make sure you want them before you buy it like in a store, especially with shoes which I am glad I had done, since these shoes run small for their US sizes, as if you are a size 5.5 wide (advisable to get wide) in US size, then a size 7 wide would be perfect, and if you are buying for a growing kid, like me, I got the 7.5 wide and it fits nicely with room to grow. The exchange is great and loved how it was easy to do except that you can't arrange for them to pick them up when they deliver the pair that you order for exchange. Not sure why that is, had to take an uber (since I don't have transportation) to the UPS store but it went really quick, a scan of the QR codes and dropped it off, no problems and no labels to print. Easy peasy. So if you have no problems getting the return to a UPS store, or Amazon location, or post office it's not hard to return them at all and much simpler than the old way of returns. I'm happy with the shoes, they are very nice and my grandauther loves them. ... show more

Fit like they should. Comfortable

  • Tap Shoes
Size: 8 Color: Black Patent
The sizes of these tap shoes were much smaller than sizes indicated. I normally wear size 71/2 or 8. The 8 and 8 1/2 shoes I ordered were both too small for me.
