  • Solid, sturdy and better than I hoped!
So I did a lot of searching and reading reviews setting up a home gym. I have a gym membership but wanted a decent setup for the days I don't feel like going in so did not want to break the bank and went with the least expensive adjustable bench I could find that still had good reviews. Again, super solid and well built. Easy to adjust and decently comfortable pad. I am 5' 8" 160 lbs. so can't say if someone a lot bigger should feel the same or not. Overall a great bench. I also highly recommend CAP weight Rack and Pull Up Bar that is in picture! * IMPORTANT NOTE: The reviews I read that stated it was not stable, wobbly or solid, I am guessing you did not put it together right. I recommend fully assembling it but not fully tightening until complete. Then put it on level floor or the area you intent to use it, then fully tighten it. I even applied a very small amount pressure onto the bench while doing so to keep it level. ... show more

  • Great bench, just needs $2.00 upgrade!
This bench is getting the job done...but, I had to modify the bolt that went through the bench pivot (to a larger size) because the bench would wiggle side to side. The bolt that it came with was too small in diameter.

  • Sturdy when properly assembled
This unit is sturdy for this price. I am 230 lbs and can work out with more than 100 pounds without any issue. There are reviews saying that it is not sturdy or loose after assembly. You *must* tighten all fasteners. The nylon lock nuts will require 1/2 inch wrench and 3/4 inch wrench. Phillips screwdriver required to fasten the seat and backrest. If you are not familiar with nylon lock nuts, they are are a special kind of nut that is designed not to rattle or vibrate loose over time. That also means that it takes a fair amount of torque to wrench them on. ... show more

  • Easy to assemble
So far I like it. Took 30 minutes to assemble. Sturdy, solid, & I can’t wait to try it. I’ll update the review in a week.

  • Decent bench
For those complaining that the back of the bench is wobbly, you need to replace the 12mm bolt that attaches it to the frame with a 6inch long 1/2" bolt with the corresponding washers and nut as other reviewers have mentioned. Makes a huge difference. Overall, this bench is adequate for a simple home gym setup. The metal is on the thin side and the bench is pretty light, so the advertised weight rating (500lbs total) seems questionable. I've had 435lbs on it flat (bodyweight plus 255lbs on the barbell) and it hasn't bent or failed. However, I've seen it flex/stretch with lower weights when in an inclined position (the front feet move forward). The adjustment between flat and upright is steeper than the usual 30 degrees (probably 45), and the seat doesn't adjust so expect to slide forward if using a good amount of weight. As mentioned before, it's pretty light, and makes I easy to move (it's stored upstairs and I can easily carry it up and down the stairs). It's good enough for now, but I've already started looking at replacing it with a bench with a higher weight capacity and more adjustability. This was a pandemic buy, and just bought what was available at the time. ... show more

  • Great for smaller people
Works great for me (190 lbs and 6' tall). I do believe that a person taller than 6' or any heavier than 200 would not be comfortable using this rig. I feel like if I were any larger, I would roll off the bench.

  • Reasonable quality for the price
I have lots of equipment, including some from Cap already. I was surprised that this bench wasn't as sturdy as I expected - the top is a little loose. This isn't a problem with this specific bench, more it seems that it's a design flaw that the center bar is pretty narrow and the bolt that holds the top on goes through a hole that's a little too large, allowing the "wiggle". I'm also disappointed that the adjustments are very few and there are only options for decline, flat, 45° and 85°. If you're looking for a bench that can offer 30°, look elsewhere! Overall, it's not a bad bench for the price, just don't expect a premium bench at this price point! ... show more

  • Great for the Price
First off, this thing is not very comfortable with minimal padding. The back is a little loose so it might wiggle around. But, for the price, it does fine as a bench. The foot holds aren't adjustable so hopefully it's good for your size. I'm 6'0" and it's a little too sort so my butt slides into the crack between the two pads. But I can still do incline sit ups, lift weights, etc. so no real complaints. ... show more
