Description

Canopy is a game where players compete to grow the most bountiful rainforest. The jungle ecosystem is full of symbiosis, and players must grow tall trees and lush jungle plants to attract the most diverse wildlife. Each time you look at a pile, you may select it and add those cards to your rainforest tableau, or return the pile face down, adding one additional card to it. As the piles grow, you must search for the plants and animals that will benefit your forest the most, but choose carefully as the jungle also contains dangers in the form or fire, disease, and drought. By carefully selecting what grows in your forest you can create the ideal balance of flora and fauna and give rise to a thriving ecosystem. Canopy has a solo player game mode as well as a multiplayer option for up to 4 people to enjoy. • Fun board game
My family loves this game, it is a simple card game where you draw cards to make a forest. The art is beautiful and the rules are simple so my 9 year old is able to play. In this game you draw cards to create a forest, some cards help you make trees, other cards are animals that have abilities throughout the game, and some cards like drought, disease, and fire add a small twist to the game without changing to much. I like this game because it is simple and nice, because you can’t do much to hurt your opponents and it great for family! ... show more

This is a really fun game! My husband & I are big into board games & this was a fun game for us. I’m a lover of tarantulas so I was really excited to see them included in the game!

  • Great 2 player game
I have only played 2 player version of this game. It is a blast! Easy to learn, fun theme, competitive but casual enough. Once you learn the cards it goes pretty quick <45 minutes

  • Kind of lame
BEAUTIFUL graphics, my 8 year old caught on quickly, but the play is not very repeatable for an adult. If the designers could have used more science at least kids could learn about the interactions of the flora and fauna. At the very least, have the threat be logging rather than lightning, to reflect reality. ... show more

  • Building a rainforest, what's not to love?
My goodness, do I love this little game! In this game you are building a rainforest full of beautiful trees, unusual plants and animals for points. There are also things like weather, disease, and forest fires that affect your forest. The way you pick the cards to lay in your forest is really unique. There are three piles of cards to choose from. You look at the first pile, and if you choose that one, you take all the cards and lay them down in your forest. You can also pass on that pile, and go to the next pile to see if you want those. If you do that, you add one more card to the first pile. Once you have passed a pile, you cannot go back to a previous pile on that turn, so there is a bit of push your luck leaving a pile behind and moving on to the next, and the piles of cards grow as you pass them by. You also collect sets of plants and animals, and they all score differently, and some of the animals and plants have special actions you can take once it is in your forest. As you play this game, your forest is getting bigger and more beautiful. At the end of each round, you score what you have so far in your forest. Building the trees is my favorite part of the game! You start with a trunk card, and can add more trunk cards to it, growing the tree as tall as you want. It won't score until you top it off with a canopy tree top card. Once these trees are scored, you put on a beautiful little animal who lives in the tree - a monkey, toucan, snake, etc. Adorable! Honestly, I don't even care what my score it by the end of the game, because building that forest and adding those animals to the trees is so satisfying. Another thing I love is there is the base game, and then extra cards you can add to make the game a bit more challenging. I really like that! It also has a good solo mode. I highly recommend this game! ... show more

  • overpriced and used
the game is fine but I ordered a new copy and the one that showed up is used and a complete mess! completely punched and completely loose in the small box. It also showed up with tape around the whole box which took parts of the box off when peeled away. what a rip-off as I paid above retail for a used copy and had no idea it was going to be used. ... show more
