    • Good meter, accurate to within 10% of actual components or better
Most of my usage is for 1w radial inductors on older amateur radio equipment, and mainly looking for dead pieces, so they're either close to rating on components or completely open circuits. Also tested a few electrolytic caps and all were very close to printed capacitance (ie. 47uf was 46.4uf). Funny thing, the zeroing knob did nothing at all in L and C modes (and I didn't have a resistor handy to test), regardless of shorting leads or with a component hooked up. Overall, very good unit for the price, but if you need absolutely accurate readings, plan on purchasing a professional LCR tester and prepare to spend 400+ bucks for one that's gonna get you to 1% accuracy. ... show more

I just received my BM4070 Digital LCR tester. I have not tested every feature, but I have measured a number of inductors in a range of values and a couple of 1% capacitors and found the product to be accurate. I like the Tilt-Up display. I give it five stars.

While it can’t compare it to a $3000 meter it appears to be accurate compared to the parts I bought. I am very happy with it. And it will suffice for my needs

    • Examine PCBs with unknown part values
Inexpensive. Works. Accurate. After testing with known parts, I measured unmarked small inductors and chip capacitors on a commercial PCB. Before I got this, I had used a signal generator and a known capacitor to estimate an inductor by the resonant frequency. This LCR meter worked in-circuit and matched my estimate within a few percent, but with far less effort. I should have purchased this long ago. ... show more

    • Good LCR meter for the money
I’ve been using this to build guitar pedals and check all the components before they go on the board. It only comes with a short set of alligator clip leads, but for my needs that has been fine. I have not used it to check inductance yet, but all the other functionality works well. Keep in mind that you can’t use this to check voltages so if you have this on your bench you likely need a second meter if you’re doing anything requiring voltage checks. The auto off function is great so I don’t constantly kill the battery. This does everything it claims to do and has been a good addition to my shop. ... show more

    • Would not work correctly right out of the box
The only way it will work is by twisting the lead connection in the meter. I tried cleaning the connectors for the leads thinking they might have residue inside but no improvement. I would have sent it back but it is really needed at this time. At least I can manage to get it to work by moving the leads while I am trying to get a measurement. ... show more
