  • 4.0 out of 5 stars 120 volt air compressor
Size: Standard
Be sure to have a spare glass tube. Hard to remove the fuse cuz of small space if your fingers are big. Wish they have a better designed but it works fine.

  • 4.0 out of 5 stars Great Price, nice features
Size: Standard
I used a similar compressor from Sears for several years. It died (more on that in a bit) and I replaced it with this one at a much better price. I paid about $65.00 for the sears one. At this price, you might think the unit is a toy, but I regularly use it to top of the air in the 22.5" tires of my RV. I run them at up to 100 PSI. I suspect that the guts of all these little tankless jobs are the same, so there's no sense paying more unless you're going to spend over $200, and even then I think you might be getting the same components inside. I opened up the expensive Sears 15-gallon tank compressor I use to run my impact wrenches and the components looked just like the ones in these units. I much prefer these compact tankless units to the loud, heavy, bulky, and awkward pancake-style compressors, which make a horrible amount of noise and literally vibrate themselves to pieces unless you tighten up all the nuts and screws on them after every use. This unit is much more convenient and the price is right. I wouldn't recommend a 12-volt unit unless you absolutely have to have it operate where there is no AC power. Even then, you my be better off with the vehicle running, an inverter in the accessory plug, and an extension cord. Pros: Hands-free, clip-on valve connection Light Compact Long cord Produces 150 psi AC powered (much faster inflates than a 12V model) Good collection of accessories Relatively accurate gauge Cons: Short fill hose Inadequate overheating protection Dies if you overheat it Losable accessory cover I think that people who are complaining about the unit dying are overheating it. If you use it to to air up a completely flat auto tire (especially on a hot day), the unit will overheat and die. That's how my last similar unit died. I tried to bring an RV tire from 20 PSI to 90+ PSI in one continuous session on an 85-degree day. If you do large jobs with it in small stages and let it cool down completely between each session, it will last a long time. If it does die, there's a good chance that you can get replacement parts for it on the web, though it will often be cheaper (and a lot easier) just to buy a new one. Other reviewers have complained about the air loss when disconnecting from the valve. This is inevitable with any hands-free air hose connector, but I've found that you can minimize it with this unit by not pushing the hose connector on as far. If you push it on just enough to engage the valve it will pop right off when you're done. You will only lose a small amount or air, and more important, the amount you lose will be consistent because you won't be spending a variable amount of time getting the connector off. Be prepared to turn off the motor right away if the pressure shoots up rapidly to over 100 pounds. That means the connector is not on far enough to depress the valve stem and you're only inflating the air in the hose. Tip - here's what I suggest to get accurate pressures with this unit: Get a good pressure checker like an Accutire. Inflate to the desired pressure + 5 PSI on the unit's gauge (checked with the motor off!). Pop off the inflation hose. Check the pressure with the Accutire to see how close you got. Do this several times. Adjust your target pressure on the CH gauge accordingly I typically get within a half-pound of the pressure I want with this unit on the first try. If you really don't like the hands-free connection, you can easily swap it for kind found at gas stations, but fair warning, that style doesn't work very well with a tankless compressor and the compressor is slow enough that you'll get very tired of holding the connector on. Summary: This is a great buy. I took off a star for the short hose, losable accessory cover, and lack of overheating protection, but I still recommend this unit strongly. It's by far the best alternative to using a hand pump, which is pretty much out of the question on my RV. ;) ... show more

  • 3.0 out of 5 stars Not what I thought it would be.........
Size: Standard
I replaced my Black & Decker Air Station that finally died. I have 2 big compressors but also like the convenience of a portable unit. I figured Campbell Hausfield would be a good replacement as the B & D is no longer available. Both Brands are old Names, Been around for ever. Hose stem/valve connector is plastic. Air hose is short covered in fabric. Gauge is in increments of 5 pounds instead of 1 pound. I am surprised to see a Brand Name like Campbell Hausfield produce what appears to be a "cheap" product. Wish I could have found another B & D Air Station. Got a very good price on the purchase. Hope it holds up...Can't believe the valve/stem connector is plastic...... ... show more

  • 4.0 out of 5 stars Good.
Size: Standard
The only downside to this product is it's pretty noisy. The last compressor I had from this company lasted for years. I can inflate anything from bicycle to auto tires. There is quite a collection of little fittings to accommodate different things. Case in point, filling up pool toys etc.

  • 5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic inflator, much better than other units which are rather flimsy. Solid piece of equipment.
Size: Standard
This is a very nice tire inflator which I would describe as a solid piece of equipment. I mistakenly thought my unit was dead and then found a review by "Kenneth Keller" who left valuable information regarding what fuse to get. Well he purchased his fuses on eBay I found mine on Amazon, the "BOJACK 5x20mm 2A 2amp 250V 0.2 x 0.78 Inch F2AL250V Fast-Blow Glass Fuses (Pack of 20 Pcs)" for six bucks! His recommendation was a "glass tube fuse (type: F2AL250V, size: 6mm x 30mm) which easily screws in-and-out of its receptacle on the side of the compressor." I recommend you get some of these fuses just in case... 🙂 ... show more

  • 4.0 out of 5 stars Wish it was quicker
Size: Standard
Had one made by this same company, it must have been 30 years old, it finally quit. Bought this one, it works just fine but I wish it was quicker. Hard to beat a air compressor style but they cost a lot more.
